I feel so behind you guys lol. My FI and I are paying for everything ourselves so as money come in, we put down deposits. I still don't have my wedding dress

However we plan on paying everything with our tax returns, so for now only limited checks from me lol

I know exactly how you feel! We are just now kicking planning into high gear and starting to get things done! LOL I still don't have a dress, either. But, I'm not going to be wearing a fancy bridal gown - something simpler off the rack somewhere will suffice for me. We're paying for it all ourselves as well, so an expensive wedding dress was out of the question. But, I'm not a fancy girl so I don't mind. :-)

Good luck with your planning!!! Hopefully we both get some major stuff done soon!

Just because a dress isn't expensive, doesn't mean it isn't nice. My dress only cost $400 at David's Bridal. I was NOT willing to spend any more than that.

OP: Don't feel bad about the checks. We all still have a lot to do. I just started kicking it into high gear as well. We are also paying for all of the wedding ourselves, along with a few of the dresses and all the tuxes for our children. We will also be using part of my tax return to put towards payments.

If you are doing any DIY things, maybe you can get a start on some of those that are inexpensive to do.

I know exactly how you feel. We've been saving out of each pay check and slowly putting down deposits. I do have my dress and believe me it was not expensive. I actually only paid $11 for it at Hudson's. But it was exactly what I was looking for and I was excited for such a deal. It is about a size too small across the chest but I wanted to have a corset backing in my dress anyway. So I ordered the corset kit for $30 now just have it put in.

I know how you feel too! We are also paying for the whole wedding ourselves. I have had to put away a good chunk of my check for the last 6 months and it is not fun. And will have to continue saving like that till the wedding comes to be able to pay for it all! Now that I have all that money saved I don't want to use it even though I have too!

I am in the exact same boat.. but i will tell you this we have a 6000 dollar budet i have diy favors and invites, save the dates i have saved 400 dollars just by doing it alone. i also bought a dress from davids bridal. everytime we think about eating out we pay it towards one of our bills. our wedding is june second and we still have roughly 3000 to pay. keep your eyes on the prize......all will be okay....

Thanks ladies! I'm a worrier so this wedding has been my obsession. Thankfully my FI calms me down until I see something else that needs to be tended to lol.
