What am I allowed to buy myself?

I know when it comes to bridal showers and bridal parties the guest are supposed to buy you gifts. Well, I am a tad on the impatient side and tend to have to get things done way in advance. Needless to say, I am trying to figure out what kind of things I am allowed to get myself for the wedding; garter, wedding night lingerie, ect. Am I just supposed to wait to see if my guests to these showers and parties might me these things?

    I went ahead and bought myself lingerie (just one) and then I got two for my bachelorette party! I think if you want to buy it go for it! Only you know what you'll really like :)

    No one at my shower got me lingerie, but I did get a gift card to Victoria's Secret. I bought a few pieces from Fredericks of Hollywood & am going to use the VS card too. Buy it for yourself. Even if someone gets you something, it may not be your style or size.

    To my knowledge, those items aren't off limits for you to buy. If you see lingerie you like, by all means, go for it!

    I'm planning on buying these items myself. At most you might receive some lingerie at a Bridal shower but do you really want to be wearing something his aunt bought you on your wedding night? I'm holding off on buying my under the dress essentials until just before alterations so that I'll be as fit as possible.

    Definately get it yourself.  If you get another then that is great, you can never have too much lingerie ;-)  But most likely no one will give you a garter and if someone does give you lingerie it may be the wrong size or not something you will like.  Better to get yourself exactly what you want and are comfortable with in that department!
