NWR: House inspectors

Does anyone have a recommendation for a house inspector who'll come to Essex County?

Also, can you recommend anyone certified in mold inspection? Either a house inspector who's also got a nold certification, or someone who just does mold inspection.

Thanks!

I have had good luck twice with Sherlock Homes inspection company.  there is one guy in particular that does north jersey and he is very good.

The inspector should be able to see mold, but if the buyer refuses to do anything you may have to pay to get a test done.  It can get really hairy, most of the mold removal business is a sham.

The buyer's already promised to fix the mold issue before we complete the sale, but I think our contract states that this depends on getting the inspector's professional opinion as to where exactly the mold is coming from.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

We are purchasing a house in Passaic County and are dealing with a mold issue that is being fixed. Our inspector was American Home Inspectors (ask for Ed). He did a great job! Home/Termite/Radon inspection was $425

The seller has agreed to fix the mold issue in the basement and is using a certified mold specialist "Mr. Mold" out of Parlin NJ They are certified and guarantee their work for 5 years.

Thanks akcrrr! Do you happen to have a website for American Home Inspectors, or a town? I'm getting a few different Google results.
