LOLs. Well, they did, but I'm not upset about it. Poor FI's leave got denied for the three days after the wedding and he has to check back in Monday morning. We had plans to drive to Vegas for a couple days and just be married for a quick minute, but c'est la vie. Maybe we'll try when he goes on block leave, *if* I can take the time off. 

I just can't get mad at the USMC! Not that I've really tried of course...

;)

    Boo! Oh well, we might end up facing the same thing so we're trying to not get our hopes up! We do plan on taking a bigger trip about a year after, when he's done with TBS. Sorry, Stan! That's a bummer.

    We're not taking one either, however its due to the fact that I started a new job :(

    We might try to do a short weekend together labor day, and then next year sometime take a trip for our one year, but it looks like he will be deployed again at that time.


    Oh well, eventually we will get one :)

    When I saw the title of this post, my first thought was "Oh man, Stan isn't going to like people saying bad things about the Marines!" ...and then I saw it was you, lol.

    That's no fun though, I'm sorry it worked out that way. Hopefully you can do something over his block leave!

    You aren't alone though. We are waiting to take ours. We might take it in January when he has time off for moving.

    We feel your pain I think.. FI and I won't be getting ours either.. He could only get the one day after our wedding off. Oh joy for a three day weekend at least?

    Sorry that your vegas plans were cancelled :( That's pretty crappy, but fortunately you know how the military is/can be. Your FI is lucky to have a woman that knows how it all works and accepts it!

    I wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked this!!

    I'm sorry that happened Stan, but I'm glad you're not blaming the Corps. I wish everyone handled stuff like this the way you do.. We should make WWSD bracelets!!

    That stinks Stan.  H and I didn't take our "honeymoon" until 8 months later.  For us though we finally moved to the same city right after the wedding, so it was kinda like a honeymoon in it's own that we were finally able to just live together and end the driving.

    Our trip home later this summer had to get changed because H's leave got denied though, and we had to pay $380 to change our flights.  The dumb move was on us though for booking our flights before getting the leave approved.  We just saw a great deal and didn't want to wait, but apparently we should have.  Oh well it happens.

    BTW, total side note, ny anniversary is on Saturday already.  Where the eff did this year go?

    He'll be TAD for Labor Day or we'd just go then. We'll try to go after he gets back and before he leaves again, and we'll definitely take the big trip when our schedules permit when he gets home.

    Like Sami, I didn't know how to take this when I saw the title! ha!

    That's such a bummer Stan! I can't say I know how you feel like the other ladies because H got really lucky with getting his leave for the wedding and HM. But I know it sucks when things don't go as planned. There's always another time for it, and like you said c'est la vie! 

    @Beach: I've been thinking about you and your anniversary. When will you fly to LA or are you already there? Have lots of fun!

    That's a bummer!  But you have such an awesome attitude though, which most people wouldn't.  So that's great!!!   I must say you're a great role model for military spouses, actually most of the women on here are!!   I'm glad I'm on the board now.  I'm learning a lot!
