Help! Shoes!

So I bought these amazing shoes for under my dress...

however, i wore them for my first fitting and they hurt like freaking hell. and i was only standing for about 10 minutes in them.

so sadly, im going to have to not wear them under my dress for the wedding. im really bummed.

I need to find new shoes and i still want peep toe and some sort of polka dot theme.

what do you ladies think of these options?

 top runner i think

these will probably hurt too which i want to avoid

Or should i just get a plain white shoes and affix black rhinestones on them for the polka dot affect?

help im so shoe-lost here....i dont want to have blisters on my wedding day! but i also want really cute shoes

Re: Help! Shoes!

  • The third ones down are super cute!  I think a flatter shoe is the way to go.  You won't be dying while you are trying to dance!

  • Sorry to hear the shoes didn't work out!  Did you try wearing them with insoles, or is it just too high a heel to be comfortable?

The other polka-dot shoes you found are all really cute -- definitely give them a try!

  • Awww, you're shoes are so cool though. I like the 4th ones. It is a platform style so it should support your feet some.
My shoes are a bit uncomfy right now, but I'll wear them around the house to break them in and I'm getting insoles for them. Maybe you could break yours in.

The second from the top look great, as long as you're comfortable walking in kitten heels.  The down side, of course, is that kitten heels aren't so good for dancing.  I definitely like the white dot on black background look.  It is very striking!

I noticed the top shoes (the ones that hurt) are Candies.  Ouch!  They're not known for comfort -- at least I don't think so.  How much time do you have to find other shoes?  If you have enough time, just set aside some shoe shopping time -- at the end of the day when your feet are swollen -- and, hopefully, you'll be able to find some kicky new replacements!

    Best of luck!!

FWIW, my favourites are the white peep toe kitten heels/wedges.  Very cute!

Just wanted to also say, you NEED to try these on in person!  Also, consider buying something in leather (suede, patton, etc)--something that will mold to your foot as you break them in.

Here are some more heels for your inspiration!  They're all from Japan, but if you actually fall in love with them this shop has international shipping.  BTW, 100yen is a little more than $1.00  so if you see soemthing for 990yen, it's about $10.00

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/amiami345/ch1101st/ (about $10.00)

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/hips-s/mk-4201/ (about $100.00)

    http://en.item.rakuten.com/louisxv/10000139/ (about $28.00)

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/amiami345/jg1039/ (about $43.00)

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/amiami345/jg1073/ (about $33.00)

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/amiami345/jg1084/ (about $43.00)

    http://item.rakuten.co.jp/amiami345/jg9214/ (about $12.00)

    etc etc etc.

If you fall desperately in love with any of these, let me know and I can mail them to you for probably cheaper than the website. :)

  • What a coincidence that you would think of going the DIY route!  Late last night, it suddenly occurred to me that, if you could find a low heeled, plain shoe with a vintage look (i.e., a low, round-toed pump or vintage-y peep toe), you could try to add a dotted bow to the front-top or at the back.  I don't know HOW you would actually add the bow -- some super strong glue?  Or, perhaps, have a shoe repair guy attach it for you?

If you do DIY it, then you can choose the color of dotted ribbon that you want, and you wouldn't HAVE to use the black or white or blue colors that you posted at the top (of course, you might actually WANT to use those colors!). Maybe you could even cover the heel with dotted fabric.  (Experiment on a pair a cheap shoes, first!)

    Anyway, it's a thought!

  • hehe thanks! i was thinking of adding black rhinestones onto a white shoes in a polkadotty fashion. that way i wont have to sew anything :)

black rhinestones are a good idea, or even just cut some small fabric circles and use fabric glue (or even hot glue) to attach them!

as far as adding the bow, its a synch.  I have even sewn tough leather bows onto leather shoes before!  Just use a nice strong needle and thread.  OR, you can salvage an old clip on earing, attach the bow to that and make a simple shoe clip where you can move the bow to the front or back of the heel as you like!

  • ug it's way too painful to be beautiful sometimes, lol.

I love love love the original shoes. can't you stretch them? i didn't get a good look, but if they're leather you can buy some stuff that will stretch them, and if they're fabric can't you just wet them a little and wear them around? That's what i'd do. if not I like the other painful pair... sorry.

wear the pretty shoes down the aisle (that's when you're going to make your grand entrance and presumably when people are going to see them best,) then just change into something more comfy for later the dancing at the reception.

good luck. and no matter which ones you go with, make sure you pack some band-aids or something for blisters in your emergency kit and leave it with one of your girls... just in case. you want to be able to dance the night away.... haha i'm probably going to be barefoot by the end of the night, lol!
