Lots of changes possible! - Long!

Hey girls!

So this weekend started out having nothing WR on the schedule, and I ended up maybe changing our date! Ahh!!!!!

I've emailed all of our vendors and am still waiting to hear back from our photographer, reception venue and the church. We have heard back from our florist and he is all for it!

Everytime I think about our wedding, I imagine spring/early summer, a big white tent, lots of southern style, seersucker, bow ties...and everything that goes along with that. The problem...we're getting married in December.

FI and I had a serious talk about it on Saturday night, then we went out with a bunch of our friends and I talked to them about it. I also talked to my mom yesterday and then some more friends today. I'm really leaning towards moving our wedding to June 2, 2012.

It would give us more time to save, we could have the wedding I keep envisioning in my head, we could do the tent at our current venue (The State Club has a terrace/patio thing that is enormous to the side of the building). As long as they have the date available and so does church and Kellie, I think we're set to change.

I am sad that we're getting married 6 months later, but like Meredith said, we're spending the rest of our lives together. And it's not like our lives haven't already started together. It would also give FI a little more time to get settle into a job after taking the bar and we'd be able to go on a nicer honeymoon because he'd have more time to save up for that!

What do you girls think? Am I crazy??

I say go for it! Hopefully all of your vendors will be okay with it, too. I just don't want you to wake up on your wedding day in December and say, we should've waited until June.

    Good luck!

I think it's a great idea. As long as you two are totally on the same page about it, I say go for it!

Hi Kelsey--I think it's a great plan.  We got engaged 1/1/10.  I knew I wanted a spring wedding, but with the campaign last year, it was out of the question, so we picked May this year, even though we won't be able to go on a honeymoon until July.  We had to schedule around a cousin and graduation weekend, winding up with Mother's Day weekend, but I'm really excited about a May wedding and so is my fiance--it's just such a wonderful time of year here.

We knocked out a lot of the big things early because last year was so crazy, but two months out it still seems like a freight train roaring in, so I wouldn't worry about a long engagement.  From my perspective--admittedly an unusual one--there was a long lull in the midde, and then things really picked up in January.

I hope that perspective helps.  Good luck with your vendors!!!!
