DIY Centerpeice Disaster

So my FH and I ordered all these amazing purple gems for our DIY centerpieces. We planned to do different vases with purple gems on the bottom, filled with water and a floating candle on top. We just tried a dry run and the gems float.......Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get cheap gems/stones or what is everyone doing for their DIY centerpieces?

If you can find coupons, Hobby Lobby has an amazing selection of stones and gems.  Michael's is running a coupon extravaganza this weekend (I BELIEVE) if you sign up for email coupons.  Good luck!

Michaels and Hobby Lobby are awesome. I priced some beautiful flower arrangements (silver branches in a silver square vase full of purple and white flowers with jems hanging off the branches)at Secret Garden off Mt.Zion exit in KY and they were really reasonable($37.00 a piece). If you are still wanting to do DIY Jackson Florist in Covington has a really great variety of centerpiece fillers and decorations.
