Married name @ work

i can't change my name yet cuza visas, so at work my email and stuff is my maiden name (A) but I want people to call me by my married name (B). Can I sign my emails Krissy B or should I do Krissy A B? Or any other suggestions? (besides "stop over thinking this" lol)

Btw when I change my name I'm adding my maiden name to my middle name: Kristina M A B

Personally, I'd do Krissy B just because eventually your work email will change to your new last name and because when you do officially change your name your maiden name will be part of your middle name, not your last name.  So if you do Krissy A B now and then just Krissy B later you're going to be confusing the hell out of a lot of people, haha.  Plus the transition will be fine for your coworkers because they'll see the email with your maiden name but they'll be signed with your married name so it's not like they'll be confused about who Krissy B is.

However, everything I said above will go to sh*t if you decide that you want people to always refer to you as Krissy A B (aka - making your maiden name part of your last name instead of your middle name).  I think it's really just a matter of deciding what you want people to call you once all is said and done and just start using that name now.

Ok I was leaning towards just signing it Krissy B since thats what I want to be called. Wasn't sure if it would confuse people tho since I'm new here (eg trying to find my email address).

If you're going to be Krissy MAB anyway, then start using that.  Or just Krissy A B if you aren't using the M in your new signature.

I don't know how quickly I'll get my e-mail address at work switched, but even before I've legally changed everything I'm going to go from J B B (with the first B being my middle name) to J B K (with my maiden and new last).

Especially if you want people to start calling you by your married name, then just go for it now.

Gotcha.  Perhaps you could send out a mass email just letting your coworkers know the situation to avoid any confusion... that you're in the process of changing your name and email address because you were recently married and that it's taking a bit longer than expected, so while your email address is going to remain KrissyA@xxx.com for the time being, you are going to be signing your emails Krissy B and eventually everything will be converted to Krissy B.

That's how I'd handle it, but it's all up to you!  :-)
