VENUE QUESTION: EMP in Seattle

Has anyone been to a wedding at the experience music project? We have the Space Needle booked but I dont know if I'm in love. If you have pictures or have seen pics can you post or link them?

I've never been there for a wedding... what part of the EMP do they allow you to book?

Are you allowed to cancel your booking at the Space Needle? Most of my vendors will still charge you the balance even if you cancel well in advance...

You can rent the EMP (and the Sci Fi museum) for private events ... Amazon had our company party there a few years go. I have no idea how far in advance you'd need to book though. They have an exclusive caterer, FYI.

The open space where bands play could be really fun -- especially if you have live music on that stage and can use the lighted wall. The only thing I'd worry about is that space can feel really huge (almost cavernous) and kind of open at one end. I'd personally want my party to feel a bit more contained. But, I'd bet EMP would feel more more contemporary and hip than the space needle. Not the same view, though. :)

I've seen pictures in a Seattle bride magazine, and went to a Microsoft party there a year or two ago. I agree with PP, it could feel huge and impersonal in a way if you don't have a huge wedding. Lots of purple lights and stuff. We considered it, but in the end just didn't feel we were the "rock star" kind of couple that could pull it off!!
