The Artisan Hotel

What are your views on this hotel? I saw a couple people (on a random google search) mention it was in a bad part of town. The pictures look like something that would totally fit us but anyone with photography skills can make a POS look like it's plated in gold.

This whole picking-a-venue-from-1500-miles-away thing is starting to make me go crazy and constantly second guess myself. I thought I had something picked out but just from the horror stories that I hear I'm really super nervous!

BTW I'm looking for some outdoor venue (either on strip or off) that for the whole shin-dig (ceremony, officiant, photog, flowers, transport if needed) isn't going to cost more than 2000 tops. And that's tops (if I get that high I better have booked Todd for photog!).

TIA!!!!

Laura

(BTW, this board is the best thing that has happened in the planning of this DW!!)

I am getting married at the Artisan in May, I went with them because their packages was great and they are very accommodating, the outside garden is beautiful .you can read and see picture of a past VK review on the advice from fellow VK posted.

    Happy planning

I think I got the idea from your bio! I was looking at the knottie list and was just browsing the ceremony sites and came across yours! There are only 2 other reviews from the link for reviews in the moderator posts so I was hoping that I could get a feel about the hotel itself too. Some have said it's planked by strip clubs and I think that would make my FMIL uncomfortable...but the rest of my family would think it's funny!

The outside of the Artisan is very beautiful. That being said, it is also located right under the I-15 freeway and adjacent to Sahara Ave, which is one of the major streets in Vegas. My fiance and I checked this place out (we are locals) and we couldn't get over how noisy it was outside. There are literally cars and trucks and whatnot driving by right next to the outdoor ceremony site. There is a wall there but it isn't very large. If it hadn't been for what I just mentioned, we probably would have been married there.

And yes, the Artisan is located on an industrial type road with many strip clubs. It's only a few streets over from LV Blvd. They are further down the road though so you won't necessarily see any of them, maybe the sign for Little Darlings or something like that.

There is one strip club diagonally across from the Artisan.  I think their outdoor space faces a complete opposite direction.  I have coworkers who claim that prostitutes frequent the place.  Generally I like it though.  It is quirky and different than everywhere else.

    I am getting married there...

We are using the pool area instead of the garden area. I debated over and over between the 2 areas. But I think the pool area won. They have an acrylic topper for the pool so that really awesome and the noise level is down.  The greenery in the pool area is fantastic and there is palms out there and all the trees are up lit.  There is regular chair seating set up as well as push lounge like beds.

There is a really ornate door you walk through and the fact you get to glide over lit water is what sealed the deal.

Oh and if it raisn you get married in the lobby whicjh is ideal.  I am kinda hoping for rain that day.

If you want I am can go take pictures for you.  Just let me know

Oh and the have the most fabulous chapel ever!!.  The guest count for that is max 40 people.  I am having over 100 so that just won't work for us.

Its all valet parking and the inside of the hotel is to die for.

The room blocks are less than 90 dollars for your guests and we are renting the biggest suite they have at their week day rate.

I love this place and its just a hop and skip away from the strip.  It would cost guests about 10 dollars for a cab to get  there from any strip hotel in case they don't have a car for the weekend.

You can;t beat the price, the wedding coordinator is fabulous.  There is no restrictions on anything ( Ie you can bring your own photog and flowers and decor)

I sugguest you call her rather than email.

I got married here in April 2011.  I would not reccomend it at all, the hotel is so loud (they have a night club till 7am in the lobby) I barley got any sleep and had to listen to my 82 yearold soon to be grandma complain about the loud music all night.  Then the next day was a pool party with electronic bongo drums no nap either!
But the worst is the service, I have never once got a returned phone call from them.  The whole planning process was like pulling teeth. The day of, noone told me where to be and at what time, my MOH had to hunt down the General manager for any info because there was no wedding planner on site.
And now about 6 weeks later I have no wedding pictures, that they were suppose to send me the digitals a week after the ceromony.  And once again I have had no returned phone calls or emails!
As economical and beutiful as this place is it has been not worth any of it!

$2000 for that whole package seems a little aggressive.  I assume that reception costs are not included in that budget.

    Now with more wedded bliss.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

I stayed there for my honeymoon after my first marriage.  The hotel is great, I loved it.  It's not in a great location, nor is it on the strip, but it is just west of the Sahara before you hit the I-15.  If you have a car, I would recommend it as It's not very walking friendly.
    I'm not good at feelings.
