Getting Marriage License today!!

Woohoo!  I am leaving work early today to meet FI at the courthouse to get our marriage license!  If it wasn't feeling real yet, this will make it real!  I am so excited to go get it I can hardly work right now :)

    EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!  I wish we could get ours that early but we both have to be in the county register of deeds office at the same time and that happens to be 13 hrs away ;-)  We'll get it the week of the wedding, which makes me nervous because I like to be prepared well in advance when it comes to paperwork.

    That is so exciting! I can't wait to do this too. I'm sure it differs by state, but how many forms of identification did you need? I'm just worried because my FI has an old address on his drivers license, but his current address on his passport. Not sure if having differing info will cause some trouble down the line.

    Britt-try calling the office you have to go do.  That's what I did :-)  We need our social security cards and driver licenses but we'll probably bring our passports and military IDs anyway as a back up.  We'll have them with us anyway, for the honeymoon, so why not?  We don't have enough time the week before the wedding to worry about having to go back there again.

    We need a DL with our current address on it, and our social security cards or birth certificates.  We had to order new DL and I had to order a copy of my birth certificate.  I had one - but it got ruined. :(  It's different in each state though, so check online or call!  I am glad I did - otherwise we would have been turned away and would have to go back with everything they need.

    I have to wait to get mine. Massachusetts marriage licenses are only valid for 30 days. I still have a few weeks before I can apply.

    In MA you apply at the Town Hall and all we need is a birth certificate and driver's license I believe. To be on the safe side, I'd bring social security card, license and birth certificate for those of you that are wondering what to bring.
