Good bakeries in SW VA... that do cupcakes?

I am getting married in Wytheville VA next August. I'm thinking about doing a very small cake at the top for my fiancee and I to save and just having cupcakes for the guests.  Does anyone know if it's cheaper to go this route vs a traditional wedding cake?  And does anyone know of good bakers that service this area?

    I live in Roanoke, VA and plan on using bubblecake cupcakes for my wedding cake. Their cupcakes are delicious and I thought there prices were reasonable. I haven't compared it to a regular cake since I have known from day one I wanted cupcakes as my cake. Their staff is very helpful too.

    I agree. I am from the Roanoke Va area and we plan on using Bubblecakes at our wedding as well. We originally planned on using Casey's Cakes form Roanoke VA but after comparing prices for a tradition wedding cake to feed roughly 100-150 guests or cupcakes from Bubblecake it was cheaper to do cupcakes.

    Have you checked Candyapple Cakes? It's kinda far though (Maryland) they may deliver your way....just a thought.

    SpencerMaegan and sprtychick - How much does Bubblecakes charge? I used to live in the area and we're coming back in town to get married (same day as you, SpencerMaegan) and I know that Bubblecakes doesn't do things via email/phone. Just wanted to get a ball-park of what to expect to see if it's worth it. Also, read some reviews that were not so partial - I should ignore them? I moved before bubblecakes came about so I haven't had the pleasure of trying them out yet!! Thanks ladies!
