Fireworks or not on Maui???

I'm confused, are fireworks allowed on Maui or not?  Really I just want sparklers.  Anyone know for sure?

I believe sparklers are allowed because they are a novelty item and aren't really categorized as "fireworks." But, you should check with your venue to see if they'll even let you have them...

Oh, and you can't ship them via air. So your best bet would be if your wedding planner has some leftover or if you find a website that ships to Hawaii (I think there's one but I can't think of the website right now...)

Hope that helps! I want sparklers, too, so I've done some research! ;)

Previous post is right...you should inquire with your vendor to make sure they are okay with it. We used sparklers at Olowalu without any issues...as far as i know...for all of you future olowalu brides. J. :-)

Where we would do them, isn't a problem.  Since we will be there for 4th of July weekend I wanted to make sure we'd be able to have them. No, wedding planner since I am  DIYing the whole wedding and at home reception. But, I'll figure out how to get them there.

Since your wedding is during 4th of July weekend, you may be able to luck out and get some, but not sure how early you're going to be there. Looks like your planning trip isn't until January...? So you'll miss out on the NYE fireworks...

Your best bet is to buy them right before the wedding...

This is the website I mentioned: http://www.skylighter.com/

If you order through them, please let me know if they get to Hawaii. It looks like you can ship to Hawaii, but you have to allow extra time. My WC said allow LOTS of time for sparklers to ship--maybe like an additional month!

On the website, it says, "Except where noted, Skylighter can ship fireworks books, chemicals, fuse, novelty fireworks, supplies, and videos to every state in the US. To find out if any item can be shipped to you in your location, just add the item you want to your shopping cart and proceed to Checkout. When you do that, all shipping options for that product will be shown to you."

I added some sparklers to the cart and it showed $25 for shipping to Maui...

Hope that helps! But please let me know if it works out for you if you decide to go this route! Would love to know if it's a successful option.

I may even ship some to my family on Maui to see how long it takes for them to get it and if they even get them! Good luck...

Thanks.  I will ask around when I am there for our planning trip. We will be getting there a week before the wedding and will be there on 4th of July, so I am hoping I'll just be able to pick some up while we are there.

FWIW, my WC looked around the weekend before July 4 and all she was able to find were the regular short ones. Not sure how many stores she tried but she has seen the long ones in the past...i think Maui or Hawaii as a whole has tighten their regulations concerning fireworks which seems to include sparklers.
