scary cruise excursion

Did anyone else read this or see it on the news?

How scary!  I've been on that cruise itinerary 3 times and never had a problem, but I guess you never know.  Anyone traveling to Mexico on their HM--stay safe and be aware of your surroundings, even in touristy areas!

    ETA: I was able to read your post after I posted!! Sure is scary. I've been hearing a lot of scary robberies/kidnappings in Mexico lately.

    I was supposed to go to Mexico City for work and when my VP found out the Secrurity Dept had scheduled an armed Guard to stay with me every time I left the hotel she panicked and cancelled my trip. I think the tourist areas should be better, but I hope that country can get the drug cartels under control. It's good advice to stay vigilant anytime you travel. I keep color copies of my passport and credit cards in the safe in the too And hidden in my house. This way if anything happens I at least have all the information I need.

    That is so scary! I heard that on the news today, that must be crazy to go through.  I had a friend who had her wallet stollen in Dublin but we ended up finiding it in a store but that was a few of my worst hours of our lives!

    Mexico has been under a travel advisory for several years now.  My ex wanted me to sign off on passports for the kids so he could take them with his new wife back in 2009 and I said no way.  He's not the most responsible man on the planet when he's in the states let alone trusting him and his wife with them and all the alcohol I know they'd be consuming (not the kids).  Course now he hasn't seen them in 2 years, sigh, sorry for the rant.

    Yeah I have no desire to go to Mexico anytime soon!  There are so many other places to go.
