Anyone tried Slimquick?

I just started taking it today, I started dieting and excercising last week and needed something to give me a boost. It gives me some energy! Made me feel a little naseous. Just curious if anyone has tried it

Eating well and exercising should give you energy themselves, you dont need a boost. Its not good for you. If you are doing everything else right, your body will lose weight naturally, if you lose too fast and dont learn how to do it in a healthy way, you will risk your own health down the road.
  • Thanks for your opinion, but i asked if anyone had tried it, not what you thought about it.

Ok well have fun yo yo dieting for the rest of you life :) no skin off my back sweetheart.
  • Aly, you're not likely to find any supporters of diet pills here. The only experience I had was when I was far too young and had a very negative physical reaction. Diet pills are not healthy or a good, sustainable weight loss plan. However, all the regs here are on different--but similar-- healthy weight loss plans and would be happy to help you find your own. Good luck!

  • Common sense would say that something that makes you feel nauseous is probably not the best for you.

How are you using Slimquick?  As a meal replacement? A snack?

  • Fail.  Slimquick is the pills, I'm thinking of Slimfast.

I tried them, and hated it.  That was before I started doing this the smart sustainable way.  They made me paranoid and jittery.  I stopped after a week.  Then I found this board and discovered The Daily Plate, then lost 20 lbs the healthy way.

  • no its a pill, i just took one today with breakfast.. actually if you look at the ingredients its mostly vitamins, green tea, and the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.  I have a 5 month old so Im really tired most of the time, today i actually had energy when i went to work out. I dont see how it is yo-yo if I am excercising and eating healthy? Regardless, SORRY i offended people by asking this.
  • I started taking Vitamin B12 with my lunch and I found that helped with my energy level. I also usually work out mid-day and that makes me feel energized.

  • From what I remember is waaaay more caffiene that coffee, which is the basis of a lot of weight loss pills.

  • I have never tried it nor any other diet like pills/drinks...

If you are eating well and exercising and still need an extra boost, make sure youre getting all your vitamins. Just like the poster said above, b vitamins are a good way to keep your energy level going.

  • I actually used it about 3years ago before I was educated about proper and safe weight loss routines.  I didn't even see a weight loss and it's definitely not good for you. If you're dieting and exercising correctly, the weight will come off and you'll gain more energy that is sustainable. It's probably just in your head that you had more energy because you took the pill.

If it's mostly vitamins...then just take a multivitamin. If you need caffeine, have a cup of coffee or green tea. Vitamins give you a natural "boost" and are 100% safe, unlike diet pills. If they were safe, then why aren't they approved by the FDA?

And I don't really see a need to get snarky towards Nebb and Raynes...they know what they're talking about and I would take their advice with more than just a grain of salt. Go to www.livestrong.com and create a profile through their My Daily Plate program...it's amazing to be able to track EXACTLY what you're putting in your body.

Ditto this. I googled it and looked at the ingredients. Just because it comes from a plant (or in this case a number of different plants) doesn't make it safe, or effective for that matter.

Just curious, how many mg of caffeine does it have?

No problem...I wouldn't of said it if I didn't believe it.

Oh and I was curious, so I looked up the ingredients info and half the pill is caffeine, so the rest of the small pill is where the "vitamins" are.
  • Note for everyone-  vitamins can actually be detrimental to your health if you take too much.  Some vitamins (A,D,E,K) are fat soluble and can cause toxicity if taken above recommended daily amount.  B and C are water soluble, so if you take too much of them you are just making your liver and kidney do some extra work, but shouldn't hurt you.

Just an FYI!  Let me know if you have any questions about HOW much the RDA is.

    My thoughts exactly. *shudder*

  • I have tried slimquick and I did lose about 5 pounds. This pills can help give you a jump start .However being healty is a way of life you must execise and eat a balance meal in order to stay heathy. so Good luck.
  • You know, cyanide comes from plants, too.

The thing is, something like this is not sustainable. Are you going to take these pills for the rest of your life? A healthy diet and exercise ARE sustainable for life. Life style change is what you are looking for.
