God's plan for a joy filled marriage class

Someone suggested I ask this here.

Has anyone attended this class? Lasts from 8:45 to 3:30 on a Saturday. What happens during it/what do you do? Do you have to talk or is it mostly sitting and listening? I'm not Catholic, but my fiance is, so everything we have to do for this wedding just seems so unknown and confusing. Dreading it, any info would be appreciated!

This class is probably the most informative and comprehensive you'll experience. Please do not dread it.  This will help make the sacraments understandable. Best explanation of marriage and church's teachings in it.

I really enjoyed this class. Although I'm sure it differs slightly in different areas, in out class, we had a couple teach most of it, with a few guest speakers. It was mostly just listening, and then periodically we would break away into couples to discuss what we were learning and what we thought about it. It was very low key. I think the most that was required of us as far as speaking goes was to introduce ourselves and say how long we'd been together. There were many non-Catholics in our group, so I'm sure you won't be the only one. I hope you enjoy it!

We went to it.  It wasn't required by our diocese, but we went into it being fans of Theology of the Body (TOB) by Pope John Paul II.  We wanted to keep learning more about TOB.  We felt that anything that could help us love each other even more, we want to learn how.  But you don't need to know anything about TOB before enrolling.  Most of our classmates came with a blank slate.

The class was mostly sitting and listening, some DVD watching, and some breaking off as couples for writing exercises to get you and your FI talking to one another about some topics.  There is nothing intrusive.  We made friends with some of the other couple there and also with the instuructors.

Don't dread it. ;) Go to it with no expectations, no plans for the weekend, and a prayerful state.
