How quickly do items get discontinued at BBB?

We are not getting married until March 2013, but I've already started a small registry at BBB on behest of my aunts. I really liked the experience, and I'd like that to be our main registry, with another small one at Amazon.
The only thing that really concerns me is that I've heard that dinnerware and china tend to be discontinued fairly often at BBB. Our taste tends to the colorful, and I'd hate have half of my dishes bought then have the set discontinued.
Complicating this is that we will be registering for A LOT of dishes. We're kosher, with big families, so that is two sets of service for 12-16.
So, should I register for dinnerware at BBB at all? If I do, will it be safe generally from being discontinued?

    I haven't had any problems with things being discontinued at BBB. I registered over a year before my wedding, mostly because my family made me. Since bedding and stuff like that is more seasonal I waited to register for that until a few month ago. But my china has been there the whole time. I also registered for Fiesta ware! If you color this is definitly the way to go. BBB doesn't carry a whole lot though and these dishes are the entire reason I made a Macy's registry. Its also almost always on sale at Macy's. I've already recieved all 12 place setting (in three colors!) because people seem to like to buy it.
