Wedding Venue in Atlanta area

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the message board. I just recently got engaged and I'm planning my wedding in Atlanta. I am looking for a venue inside the city so it's convenient to out of town guests. My fiance and I live in New York right now, and most of our guests are coming from out of town. We want to keep the wedding close to Atlanta so people don't have difficutly traveling without cars. We're inviting around 175 people, and I'm looking for a reasonsable wedding venue in Atlanta. I would love to keep the total cost of the wedding under $30,000. Any suggestions for reasonable venues in the metro area?

THANKS!!

  • There are all kinds of venues in Atlanta that will fit into your budget. One suggestion is the Georgia Aquarium. I have heard great things about weddings held there, and it's something kind of different.

  • I'm in a wedding in September and will be getting married after that myself. My friend is getting married at summerour near Atlantic Station. It's very cool. http://novareevents.blogspot.com/2010/03/summerour-studio.html

Any of the novarevents locations would accommodate you, I think.

I've seen a few pics on FB from acquaintances I went to H.S. with who got married at the Biltmore and it was beautiful, if you like that more formal setting.

Personally, I've been looking at Greystone at Peidmont Park. It looks so stunning and puts you right in the heart of the city, which gives your out of town guests access to easy transportation (cabs and walking distance to transit) and the nightlife around midtown. Be weary on when you want to have your event though. The park is wide open and I've heard that anything from music festivals to art fairs can be going on at he same time. It might be kind of interesting if it was a beer festival or an art fair, but if something like Music Midtown gets planned after you've book the date, good luck with that.

Also check some of the private clubs and rooftop venues in the city, which can be really cool, like the Peachtree Club.
