Say Yes To The Dresses??

I have a dilema! I am planning on wearing two dresses (one for the ceremony and one for the reception). I am not sure of what style I would like to go for. Here are a few styles... Let me know what you think

Re: Say Yes To The Dresses??

  • I'm not a huge fan of dress one, but I like 2 and 3. Dress 2 is probably my favorite. Would that be for the ceremony or the reception?

  • I want something classic looking for the ceremony and then exotic looking for the reception. To be honest my personality seems more like dress number 3, my mom didn't really care for dress 1 (I actually cried in that dress) I'm not sure if that was because I was actually trying on wedding dresses for the first time, because my mom wasn't there9we live in different states) or because I liked it. I thought I wanted the "princess" look, but I guess my true self it more outgoing and edgier than that! Thanks Cool

  • I like dress 3, but I know a lot of people are hit-or-miss with the pickups. Personally I like them and I think you look great in it.

  • Thank you very much, I love dress 3 and I am still looking, but I love the direction that style number 3 goes in. To me, it just screams FUN Kiss

  • Dress 3 is most figure flattering on you. LOVE it!!

  • Thank you all very much! I am starting to feel much better about it. I am VERY self-conscious about my arms being out, so I am trying to go out on a limb here :-)

  • I think you are completely rocking dress #3. I don't think #2 is very flattering at all. Dress number 1 is very pretty but I'm hung up on waist line - seems to cut you off in a weird spot.
  • Good luck! Could you try the dresses on again? That way you could see if the crying with dress one was the dress or the experience. #3 definitely looks great on you.

  • Dress #3 is super flattering on you. I hate styles like that normally but you look so natural in it. I vote for it!

Seriously like the 4th post that was eaten this morning! URR..

    NUMbER 3 looks AMAZInG!!!!

lol guess it showed up after all.. lol
  • 3 does scream FUN!!!!! And looks amazing on you!
  • @ timsflower81 Thank you very much, I must say I agree whole heartedly about number 1 cutting me off and I'm already short enough as it is 5'2''. I really need a look to elongate myself.

@ becka717 I plan on going to try the dresses on again (along with a few others). I believe the crying came from the excitment of just trying on dresses along with the fact that my mom couldn't be there, so I guess it just snowballed from there, but thank you very much for the kind words!

@ entropicbeauty Thank you so much. I don't mind rocking something that's a little out there, lol... I think as long as your personality shines through, you could rock ANY dress (granted it firts right and hugs the curves just right) I felt very natural in it, especially when the veil went on .LOL

@ aynos77 Thank you so much and I am happy that the post went through because the compliments are really helping me with my self consciousness (my arms being out). I guess what they say is true, "The fourth time IS the charmer!" LOL
@ cinderellasjc Thank you, Fun is my ultimate goal! Everyone knows me as a fun, sparky, energetic, fun-loving gal, so I would love for my dress to reflect that! (Add in a little sexiness and it's all good) Cool

Thank you all so very much

I agree with PP's. I think dress 3 is most flattering. I think it's unique and the straps looks great on you :)

  • @ EastSideBlonde Thank you so much for the compliments! I think tha dress 1 is a very pretty dress for whom you would call a FOO FOO FAIRY PRINCESS (BTW...I LOVEEEEEE THAT LINE), but I think that because I'm a bit far from the 3FP and more tomboyish, it translates through the dresses. Who knows, mabe I was a princess in another life. You rock! Cool

  • p.s. @ EastSideBlonde I just took a look at your dress and realized we are both in different versions of AA's Cinderella gown, lol... You look like a princess and the gown looks lovely and natural on you!

  • I love #3! The back almost looks like cascading water. You have some time, though so just continue to be open to different styles. I was originally looking at dresses with pickups (every single dress I had a photo of had them....and I do not know why I was soo obsessed), but I wound up getting a mermaid. Accentuate the parts that you love, and be comfortable in your skin!

I plan on trying a few to see if it does the trick! Thanks
I, too, am very self conscious about my arms. I don't even wear tank tops; however, my dress isn't one that will look good with any type of jacket---so the seamstress recommended a veil for at least the ceremony/reception. I have one that is a little longer than my shoulders----maybe to my elbows. She gave me double sided tape so it won't look screwy and blow during pictures. Regardless, it's what I need to feel as if I'm a little covered up. After that, bring on the drinks!!!
    Posted by luv2teech7
THIS!!!!! We are arm sisters, lol... I don't wear sleeveless, tanks, halters, none of that. I'm a little on the fairer side, so my veins show up CLEARLY and I hate that, but I guess I have to work with what I got! Better than nothing :-) I plan on wearing a cathedral length veil (has always been my dream), so I will definitely be rocking that to the fullest!!
