Venue ideas for chicago suburbs

hey everyone,

I'm trying to find a venue by the chicago suburbs that is very inexpensive is reasonable on the catering. We are trying really hard not to spend too much money, but it seems like i keep running into venues that are a bit too pricey. Anyone have any ideas on inexpensive venues or catering?

Re: Venue ideas for chicago suburbs

  • what suburbs are you looking at? do you have a general area in mind?

  • Check out The Chateau Bu-Sche in Alsip, IL. They are reasonable.
    Anniversary
  • Check out Glendale Lakes in Glendale Heights.  We just had our wedding 10 days ago and throughout the entire thing they were awesome.  The prices & what it includes were awesome (especially if you're looking for off season) plus they included gratuity in the pricing which always adds about 1-2k when seperate!
  • OP, what is your price per person or overall for venue/catering? Also what suburbs or direction (north, south, west?) are you looking for?

I got married at the Waterford in Elmhurst and loved it. The price was great and food was delicious, and all our guests loved it as well.

  • Ok so we are going to have about 200 guests, and im looking around the ohare area so elmhurst, addison, des plaines, mt. prospect, arlington heights anything around that area.
We want to have a saturday wedding and are hoping to find something that is decently priced. like around $20 or $30 a plate. And we are thinking about doing a buffet style, just because its half indian and half american. so i think it'll be easier and less of a frenzy to have a buffet styel for both sides. I just dont many venvues in my area that will be able to accomadate everything that i want. any suggestions?

Does $30 per plate include alcohol?  That price, including liquor, in the suburbs, on a Saturday night, will be difficult.  Is your choice of day flexible at all?

You could probably have a family style dinner at Biaggi's, but the price would not include alcohol, or even dessert.  Maggiano's might have something for under $40 a plate, but again, without any extras.

Could you throw in a few more specifics?
  • We do want the alcohol and dessert included. I mean i know its close to impossible i was just hoping that someone here would have ideas. We absolutely have to do it on a saturday, we have a lot of out of towners that are coming in for this wedding. What is the average price usually for per plate?

In the suburbs, I would think it would be almost impossible to find such an inclusive package, on a Saturday night, for much less than a minimum of $50 per person.  Prices may be slightly less if you look closer to the O'Hare/Rosemont/Des Plaines area.  You might want to check Victoria Banquets; they have several locations, one in Rosemont.  Bristol Court in Mt. Prospect has a few packages for the low $50's, as does The Cotillion in Palatine, and The Seville in Streamwood.

If you must have a Saturday wedding, would you consider a brunch or luncheon event?  Prices will drop considerably for daytime events.
  • Thats why i wanted to do, is have some kind of lunch type of reception, but we came to the conclusion that we will need to have a dinner reception. if we absolutely need to go to $40-$50pp we will, i just wanted to get an idea of what the average price is and if its possible to get anything lower for anything that we need. I'm pretty much planning my wedding on my own and don't really have that much help so i just though id ask the brides on here who actually know what they are doing.
