venue help

Narrowed my places to 2.... Plumbush is one although i think its too small.  I want the colonial look.  the other is colonial terrace (or should i say the Mansion at Colonial Terrace).  Both are great.  The new renovations at the Mansion are great and the packages are very affordable.  They have a whole new look since i was last there (at my prom) Any suggestions?

Here are the websites of both places, so maybe other girls can check them out,

    http://www.plumbushinn.net/Weddings.htm

    http://www.colonialterracecaterers.com/weddings.htm

Both are really pretty and both different! Colonial Terrace is a traditional type  catering hall (in a restored mansion) and Plumbush is a Victorian home turned Inn. It also serves as a restaurant.

Colonial Terrace has two ballrooms, while Plumbush has only one.
(multiple ballrooms mean more than one event can go on)

As far as size, the websites say Plumbush can hold up to 180 and Colonial Terrace up to 400. I always assume on the 75- 80% rule. That is the room is "best" at no more than 80% of the number they say it will hold.

Meaning, I wouldn't put more than 145 in Plumbush or 325 at Colonial Terrace. But that's probably their big room. Not sure about their smaller room. More people will obviously fit (up to the max number they give you) but I doubt you want your guests to be crowded.

Both places are beautiful and the food good, so you will luck out wherever you go!

(I only mentioned the room capabilities because you mentioned you thought Plumbush might be too small)

    Good Luck! Hope this helps!
