DW in Aruba

Uh with all the drama with wedding planning I am now considering doing a DW in Aruba. Has anyone checked into their packages? What rate were you quoted at?

Hello and welcome to the board! You have found a great place. We actually have a former DW knottie that got married in Aruba, and vacation's there all the time. She is over on the nest on the North Dakota board, you can get her over there. Her knottie name is AllisonPilgrim. She knows a lot about Aruba.

I'm no help with Aruba obviously, I'm getting married in St. Thomas.

welcome to the board.

no help with Aruba I'm a Jamaica girl. but Iwould start by looking at resorts/hotels online then call them up and get some info and prices. then compare. thats what I did. My TA has also been great about getting more info for us as well. So a TA might be a good option if you want to go that way.

i'm getting married in Aruba on Aug 2. there were a variety of wedding packages available at different hotels in different price ranges: Westin, Hyatt, Radisson, etc. We decided to get married at one of the hotels in the low rise section.

since we wanted to keep things relatively simple, we actually chose to go a la carte since the packages included extras i didn't need and didn't include some must haves. it depends on what your needs are. our wedding is going to be at the Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa. the beach is wider here and we were told quieter/less crowded, so this appealed to us.

we're using a WC though to help and that was a lot more reasonably priced than expected.

we don't have our final quote yet but including our travel arrangements for the week, a welcome dinner, farewell brunch, reception, dj, photog, etc., we're likely to come in between 12-15k.

we are just having a BM & MOH. we thought including too many would make the seats in the audience empty, since everyone there is obviously very special to us.

I will be getting married this July in Aruba. Definately think about what you're looking for then do a search. There are many options depending on what you want. We're having the ceremony/reception at the Renaissance resort private island.

Can you believe how fast the time is going? We have a little less than two months to go?! By the way, have you found someone for your hair/makeup? I was going to work with whoever the resort suggests but I'm looking around.
