  • I am incredibly embarrassed by this but I can not listen to Tim McGraw, My LIttle Girl or Taylor Swift, The Best Day without crying.  I know they hare pop country songs but I can't help it.

My dad chose the song we danced to.  He really wanted to do this and my mom told me he spents months thinking and agonizing over it.  Originally he didn't want to do something so popular but he picked Tim McGraw, My LIttle Girl.

Taylor Swift, The Best Day makes me cry because I was picked on a lot and it pretty much describes what I did.  I would come home cry to my mom, she would take me window shopping (we didn't have money to actually buy stuff.)  There is also a line that gets me about her little brother being better than her which I can definitely relate to.

Motivated: "Standing Outside the Fire" by Garth Brooks comes to mind. I haven't listened to it in ages, though.
    Excited:
    Sad:
Happy: "King Without a Crown" by Matisyahu. I've got a line from it tattooed on me. Maybe it's more of a comforting feeling, but that wasn't an option.
    Mortified:
Homesick: "Life in a Northern Town" I'm from northern MN, H always sings that to me when we talk about where I'm from.
    Pretty:
    Nerdy:
Hilarious:"Fvck Her Gently" by Tenacious D
    Pumped Up:
Horny: "Pony" by Ginuwine, or "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. Or "If You Can't Say No" by Lenny Kravitz.
    Gangsta:
Romantic:"Secret Smile" by Semisonic. Our first dance song.

Songs that make you think of:

H/SO/FI: "Singing in My Sleep" by Semisonic. It's like Dan Wilson went forward in time and wrote this about the early days of H and I's relationship.
Mom: "Summertime Blues" -- for years, Mom thought the lyric that says "I'm gonna raise a fuss, I'm gonna raise a holler..." was "Gonna raise a hard-on." We still tease her about it.
Dad: "Last Train to Clarksville" by the Monkees. He loves that song b/c it kinda sounds like they say "Parkville" instead, and that's the name of the town he grew up in, and where he would've been living when the song came out.
Siblings:Anything by the band Trip Shakespeare. My sister (the oldest) introduced them to our brother who introduced them to me.
    BFF:
    Middle School:
    High School:
College:Too many to list. Anything that would've been popular in the summer of 2001, I suppose

    Best Workout Song:
    Best Slow Song:
Best song to sing loudly with your friends:
Song you're not ashamed you know all the words to: "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by REM.
