Getting in Shape

9 Weeks

So I have exactly 9 weeks before I start my dress fittings and begin the search for my perfect dress. Any good fat blasting workouts, diets, etc you gals can recommend me? I have pcos so everything that goes in my mouth has to be gluten free and considered low glycemic index. Thanks!!!!

I weigh 190lbs and am hoping to lose as much weight as possible by my dress fitting.

My goal weight is 120lbs to be at a healthy weight for my height.

So do you have your dress already or are you just starting your search?  The best thing that you could do is watch what you eat and excercise.
  • Anything that makes you drop from 190 to 120 in 10 weeks is not going to be healthy nor will you be able to maintain because you aren't going to be making healthy lifestyle changes.  You should probably aim for 10-20 pounds in those 10 weeks.  Basically eat lots of veggies and fruit and lean protein and try to stay away from carbs unless they are healthy carbs but I think you kind of have that covered because of pcos.  Mainly excercise will be it. I would maybe suggest something like the couch to 5K program.  It's about 8 or 9 week program and at the end you can run 3 miles.  Cardio is one of the best ways to lose weight.

I would have to disagree with that...YES cardio is important...but weight training is going to help tons too because it will build lean muscle which will burn more fat day to day. So I think its important to incorporate both into a workout plan.

Also, I agree with PP...there is no way you are going to loose 70lbs in 9 weeks...so I would shoot for 10-15 tops...and just work from there. If you make a lifestyle change and not got on a "diet" then it will be easier to maintain in the end. Good luck! We are here to support!!

I was just going on what my doctor told me.  He said if you can only do one or the other do the cardio.  I have problems with my shoulders so I can't lift weights.  Plus he told me that you can't spot train so even if you do weights and other exercises you still need to do cardio.  That was pretty much my main point.

Edit:  OP what is your height if you don't mind me asking.  I'm 5' 2'' and my weight could range from 107-137 so I am just curious.  I am aiming for 137.
