Caterers

For those who are hiring caterers for your wedding reception, just wondering how many servers you guys had based on the number of guests you have at your wedding?  My caterer is estimating 9 servers for our wedding party of 110.  Is that pretty reasonable?  Didn't realize how much servers cost!

    Wow! I think thats a lot. I believe we had about 4-5 total (I know I hired 1 extra for plating for myself and hubby and help with the pupu table). And there was 1 carver for the prime rib. Also we had a wedding party of 215.

    I think we have 1 server for every 50 guests.

    We are having ours a restaruant but for my daughters wedding in Jan. we had 3 plus one supervisor for 108 guests. I think 9 is way too many.

    it depends on whether the servers are just serving your meal or also taking care of cocktail orders.  Our WC had told us we would need 1 server per 10-15 guest if plated meal or 1 server per 20 guests for buffet to ensure guests were properly serviced.

    Yeah thats what I was thinking myself.  I thought 9 servers was a bit high for just 110 people....especially if we wanted to do it more family style!
