favor ideas...please help

So me and my fiance decided for our favors we are going to donate to two charitys. I am looking for ideas on how to let everyone know. If anyone has done this or been to a wedding that has done this, please give me some ideas. I want something different then just a scroll or something.

    Just donate the money to charity and not mention it at all at the wedding. No one misses favours until they are told they aren't getting them!

    Just make the donation quietly.  No one expects favors and if there's nothing for them to take home, it's fine.   But, no one likes to be told what they're not getting.

    Why do you need to let everyone know?  Please, please, please read the link Mrs. B provided you (which is a link to the sticky note at the top of this board, by the way) and see why telling people you're donating "in lieu of favors" is not a good idea.

    I went to a wedding where the couple put a place card that very nicely stated that a donation was made to "so and so" charity in their name for attending the wedding.  I thought it was a lovely gesture.

    And if that was a charity that I had an ethical issue with, I'd be pretty ticked off to have a donation made "in my name".   It's just best all around to leave the guests out of the donation. As a guest, what I don't know can't hurt me, know what I mean?

    It is great that you plan to give money to a charity. Everyone should share what they've been blessed with. However, I would strongly advize to leave your wedding and your giving separate. A wedding isn't a good time to be making a statement about anything other than loving one's partner. I would give your donation and leave it at that. Why AW it?
