Update

With only 5 months to go before the wedding it seems like stuff is starting to fall into place. We are only having a 7 month engagement so I am so far behind what all the checklists say I should be. But.... in the last 2 months I have got the following done: venue, guest list, DJ, photographer, ordered my dress, blocked of hotel rooms for OOT guest, STDs mailed, got our honeymoon narrowed down, and a rough idea for our centerpieces.

There is still so much to do. I find myself looking at flowers one minute and then limos the next. I can't seem to concentrate on one thing at a time. Did any of you ladies have this problem?

The next things on my list include: Caterer, florist, and insuring my E-ring. With being 5 months out, is there anything else I should be working on right now?

I appriciate all the help you ladies have given me already in this planning process! Thank you so much!

I'm having an 11 month engagment (same wedding day as yours) and I still haven't gotten my florist booked, or picekd out my centerpieces(The Caterer is going to supply them.)

I JUST booked, my DJ and videographer and haven't had the chance to book blocks of rooms for my OOT Guests.

I am in the process of finishing my Card box ( I was supposed to do this 2 weeks ago when I didn't have a job.) I have some finishing touches on my cake topper I need to do (on top of decide what I want my cake to look like.)

Getting the BM dresses is a HUGE check that you will be greatful to get off your list. I am taking my mom and FMIL shopping Sunday for their dresses ( I've already taken FMIL once and struck out because DB didn't have the dress in her size and it is being discountinued.)

It looks like you are on track. congratulations!

Well ladies the three of us are in the same month and I was just freaking out yesterday myself thinking I didn't have everything! So I can totaly relate to lack of concentration and thinking OMG!  I haven't even insured my E-ring yet!

I think because I am planning from afar I am a little ahead of you...only because I was determined to make my two visits down there as productive as I could!

You both are in pretty good positions.  Getting the dresses is a HUGE weight off your shoulders and it looks like both of you have the basics - venue, photog, your dress & dj, which is GREAT.  Have you started looking at invitations?  Those were something that took me a bit of time to decide on, plus waiting for samples.

    Good Luck!

Yeah, I'm Oct. 23rd, and I can relate.  I found and ordered my dress right after we got engaged (which was in February), and it's supposed to arrive tomorrow (yay!).  We also recently ordered the 3 BM dresses.  I haven't yet decided on flowers/decorations, nor have I purchased FI's wedding band.  But we have the photographer, DJ and venue booked, and we're looking at different ceremony intineraries to decide what we want to include.

My biggest issue right now are the invitations and guest list.  After we got engaged, FI's sister said she wanted to do our invitations--including paying for the postage!!!--as her gift to us.  I was thinking, Yeah!  That's quite a gift--and a load off my shoulders.  Problem is, she said this weeks ago and has yet to send us any samples of her ideas.  We've pretty much decided on the wording, so we're just waiting on her to send us some designs to look at.  Also, we were planning on inviting over 200 people with an expected 180 or so to come, but we've also talked about scrapping that and just doing something small with immediate family and closest freinds.  Who knows...
