Hey everyone!

Let's get this board moving!  I feel like this board is like the weather this week!  Let's change that!

WR- how is everyone doing?  Anything you are working on?  Anyone need advice on something or recs on who to use for something?

NWR- what's going on in everyone's life?  Anything exciting?  C'mon, spill it!!

Re: Hey everyone!

Well this is NWR but I just need to rant about work for a second. I am a psych nurse and I work with adolescents..and let me just say that it pisses me off when a parent keep sending their autistic child to a mental health facility because they can't handle them! The kid is low functioning autistic! He can't help it when he gets frustrated and throws a tantrum!!

K! I'm done..now off to said work place to deal with said child!

WR... I'm in that "hurry up and wait" phase of planning... and I'm just waiting for some s*** to hit the fan, because I know it's going to happen at some point.  Me and stress don't go well together.

NWR... I'm ready to basically implode.  I have a lot of things "dumped" on me at work, because everyone's motto seems to be "Hmm.. someone needs to do this... I know.. RA will do it."  The past 4 days of work I've been here 10+ hours (don't get overtime) and I can feel a cold coming on because I'm getting run down.  AND I have two jobs...and I really can't afford to be sick right now.  I could use a mental health day... but unfortunately, I don't have any vacation days left because I went to Ireland in May and got stuck there an extra 3 days courtesy of the volcanic ash cloud.  So nothing exciting at all... just waiting for when my body gives out on me from overworking myself!

Great idea!!  I would love for us to be more active!

WR:  I am in the process of finalizing my guest list, signing the photographer contract (we're going with Kerry Harrison.  She does really nice work!), mailing the deposit for the DJ (Tom Barrett.  Its nice to have a DJ, but we didn't really like that they want a deposit before having a consultation with us.  I'm soley relying on the reviews from you ladies!).  I'm getting ready to go shopping for my dress, order the STDs, and meet with a florist to decide (Belak's is definetly on the list).

NWR:  Working working working.  I'm STILL trying to find a job in my field.  I graduated from Goldey-Beacom in human resources and as of now, I am working in Maryland tourism.  Terrible economy!

Most DJs require a deposit.  I am sure that if you wanted to meet with him, he would do just that if you asked.  If you want more reviews on them, head to Martha Stewart Weddings- they have a 4.9/5 star rating.

We had Kevin at our wedding on Saturday.  He introduced himself to us, made sure everyone's names were right and how to pronounce them for the introduction, played all our right songs (including not playing the no play songs!), was good at introductions and announcing without being cheesy or in your face (I HATE THAT), and overall was decent and behind the scenes- he did his job well.  The only thing he didn't do was announce that the Candy Bar was open, which turned out to be okay- we wanted it announced so others would know that it was open, and turned out they all figured it out on their own and basically rushed the table!!

Santorini, what are you looking for in a DJ and Photog?  You have been looking for a while!  How much do you want to spend?

If you want the review of my photog, I can send it to you, but the short version of it is that switching to her was the best decision we made regarding our wedding, hands down.  Even if we had to pay another $1000 or more, it still would have been worth it.  If you want to see her photos, the link is in my Back and Married post.

You saw my review for Tom Barrett above, hopefully that helps.

WR: Meeting with Photographers this week and next. Then will move onto videographers. I am still a ways away but I want these two booked by the end of the year so I can keep their prices that they have now!

NWR: UGHHHH! So frustrated with everything. Been trying to get a job in my field for months now. and nothing. HR people refuse to call/email/tell me anything back and so I got a part time retail job. And i just started so I didnt really know how to request certain days off. And I was planning on going home this weekend for a belated bday with the family and a awesome shopping date with the MOH to start looking at BM dresses. And then next weekend go even farther to alumni weekend at my college, but now I have to pretty much give up one of these and still need to get both fridays off! SO FRUSTRATED! I thought not really having a full time job meant that I got to do what I when i want for the most part. But apparently not and I have been in SUCH A FUNK this last week cause i am so bored out of my mind at home with nothing to do that I was really looking forward to these two weekends! BOOOOOoooooo :(

Sorry that was a little vent too. But it felt good to get it out.

well, i was in DE my last weekend and had another photographer interview and one phone conference and let's just say, I am still searching, I've set up 2 more interviews for next week...this is getting to be as bad as the venue search...ugh. I'm also setting up an "audition" for Tom Barrett for next week. Basically i will go to one of their events without actually entering it so i can listen to what happens...
i also went dress shopping and tried one another 2 dozen or so...only found 2 that i kinda liked, narrowing down my style i guess...

WR:  getting ready to celebrate our 1 year anniversary on the 11th.  Rich and I went out to the Melting Pot last night to celebrate early because he has to work on the 11th (he works in retail too and it sucks because he works basically every weekend and holiday).  I did take off 3 days next week (2 of which he is off) so we can hang together and go apple picking and such.

NWR: There are a lot of changes happening at my work recently that is making it very hard to like it here anymore.

WR- I just bought the postage for our STD's... but left the fully stamped, sealed & ready to go envelopes on my desk at home. Grr. I'll just send them out tomorrow. I was hoping to send them out earlier.
FI told me last night that he totally digs BlackSilver Imaging for our photogs, so we're going to get in contact with them... (woohoo!!) and we're starting to look for our baker and dj in the next few days too.  I set up a tentative registry at Kohls, because both of us already have just about everything we could possibly need... so now, the next 14 months will consist of DIY projects.

We're also trying to find a ceremony site, but having difficulties with that. My 'home' church is in delaware county, (ridley) and his is in pittsburgh, so clearly we won't be using his. My concern about mine was that I didn't want everyone to have to pay a toll on 95 to get to North east, but if they get off at the exit before the toll, it adds a half hour drive on. (I'm used to it, but it's not fair to everyone else) and transportation isn't really in our budget except for the two of us, and possibly the bridal party. So, now we're trying to find a church somewhere in the Elkton/North East area that doesn't require us to be members. We're both Lutheran, but our situation is that the three lutheran churches in the area are not the same synod as our home churches, so they don't recognize our being members of our churches.
I swear, we're gonna end up either outside the reception site, (in december, off the water) or in the little white chapel in elkton. I'd been looking at Rock Church, in Fair hill... anyone heard anything good?

NWR- Working. I can't find a new job, and my district manager ripped me a new one yesterday and actually made me so upset that i broke down in tears in the bathroom at work... All because I made a 7700.00 sale in appliances to a contractor who didn't want to buy protection agreements on any of his purchases. So, i basically had my job threatened, and was given sole responsibility of bringing the store's percentage back up. Yeah. We made our day by 10.30 am. And I got ripped a new one.

I love retail. Anyone know of any administrative assistant positions open? I'm willing to drive to DE or MD...

Paprika--that sucks.  I know all about retail goals and whatnot... it's a pain in the you know what.  Good luck searching.  Unfortunately, the only jobs I know of are in sales.  No admin positions :(

Paprika- I am lutheran too!  There are a ton of Lutheran churches (ELCA, LCMS, and Wisconsin) in this area.  Email me at msbriarrose@gmail.com and I will give you the low down on which are around here.  There are definitely more than 3!

Lura- what's happening at work?  We need to have a girls night when Jackie gets back and we are done our HM.

CFB- who are you looking at for photogs?

Eileen- message me about your phone conference!

*in regards to retail:  my hubby sells jewelry at a local dept store, and even though he will sell a high priced item, the ptb don't care unless he either has a care plan attached or an i-cap (which is a store card).

Hello Ladies! I feel like I fell off the face of the earth (err...the board) since school started back up (I teach 8th grade). But I finally found some spare time to get caught back up....

WR: My dress came in this past week! I went yesterday to pay the balance and try it on. It fit like a glove! I'm so pysched! I have to have some slight alterations in the bust, but nothing to drastic, and have the bustle put it, but everything else is perfect! So the next stop will be with Sophia. I love my dress!

FI and I picked out his wedding band yesterday after I left the bridal salon. It was a  productive wedding planning day for us...He didn't have too much to say about the band, he wanted me to pick it out since he picked out mine. So we went to his jeweler on Jeweler's row in old city Philadelphia. Ron Panepinto is at 700 Sansom Street and he's awesome. I worked with Ron and his sister Karen yesterday while we picked out the band and discussed options for sizing my ring. Highly recommend them. FI's family has been working with Ron for years.

Pre-Cana started last Wednesday evening and although we missed the no-hitter for the Phillies, the experience was positive. FI says its the "calm before the storm" lol...so we shall see what happens this week.

NWR: Work is crazy. Like I mentioned earlier I teach 8th grade (math). We had conferences this past Thursday and parents always "love" the math teacher. Had to present on Friday during the state-wide teacher inservice day, which I was completely uncomfortable with and then to top it all off, got no recognition for. The whole experience sucked. Glad it's over and am now looking forward to election day (our next day off...lol).
My 30th birthday is quickly approaching (10/26) so I'm now just trying to enjoy the final days of my 20s.

I hope everyone is doing well...go Phillies!
