Advice for jewelry...bridesmaid want super fancy...pics incl.

Hello everyone!
I have a small issue that probably seems crazy to everyone else, but I feel like I have so much going through my head right now I can't think clearly and I need an unbiased opinion.
I am attaching a picture of my bridesmaid dresses. They are Alfred Sung and midnight color. I was thinking silver jewlery, but the issue is do I have the necklaces are match? or not? Their shoes are going to be silver also and not match because they live all over the east coast and match shoes was too complicated for me to figure out (none of my BMs live in the same city as me).
The other issue is that my youngest BM is 14 (my sister) and my oldest is 27 so I want something that can work with anyone.
I'm kind of thinking like a classy look, with a small bit of pizazz, but I don't know how to accomplish that.
The groomsmen will be in grey and the groom in black. So I don't want it all looking like too much going on up there.

I know in the picture she has chunky jewlery on, but I dont knw if that's the best choice.
Here is what the guys will look like, but with out the polka dot ties, they'll just have navy.

and just incase it helps with the vibe of what htings will look like, here is the flower girl dress...

Sorry that was like a novel, I guess I can't accomplish things the easy way. and I'm sure this is stupid to be askng adivce on but if anyone has any that would be great!

  • I personally think that 'chunk' necklaces class DOWN a dress, not up,.  BUT that is simply my opinion.  Perhaps some small simple silver necklace that will work for all the girls?

I'm having a daytime, butterfly theme wedding, so this is what I've gotten all of my girls to wear (with a nicer chain for the necklace)

I really like all of your dresses and tuxes. Honestly, I would just let your girls pick whatever jewelry they want maybe with a few guidelines if there is something you really want them to avoid. It will save you money because if you specify specific jewelry you should pay. That way they could buy something they will actually wear again or wear something they already have. And it will avoid a look that is too matchy.

LightInTheBox.com has inexpensive jewelry that you might like.

I ordered jewelry from there for myself and my two bridesmaids (I'm going to surprise them with it). It hasn't arrived yet, but I can update you with the quality later if you'd like. :-)

  • Normally I don't like chunky jewelry, but I think it would fit with the trendy feel you have going on.  I'm just asking my girls to wear whatever they feel comfortable in for shoes, jewelry, hair, etc.  Partly because their necklines are all different and partly because I don't have the budget for shoes, jewelry, hair, etc.
  • I always recommend etsy on here, but I'll do it again! I'd go for either simple silver, or classic pearls, or a combo with pearls and a little bling... a drop style necklace might look nice with that neckline!

Where did you find the necklace earrings set? I showed it to my flower girl and she "has to have it!"

  • I am footing the bill for my BMs jewelry, but I tried to pick something they could wear again (with help from SIL).

Here it is (from Davids Bridal, $20 for the set):

  • I actually found a pearl necklace and earring set (the pearls switch between silver and blue with crystal spacers) at Kohl's for my BM's for like $12.00 each! It was a major score after I spent weeks browsing the web.

Also, I'm not sure if you have ever used Anna Bellagio, but I bought a bracelet and earrings for my wedding day jewerly from there and I was really happy with it.

    Good luck

  • Thanks everyone for all of your great advice! I had planned on footing the bill for the jewelry, but now i'm just going to let them pick their own. They live all over the east coast and it's just going to be a lot easier.

    Thanks again!
