My mom wants to start looking for mother of the bride dresses..  The catch is, my mom is a large woman. We've looked in some department stores but have not found anything appropriate. Does anyone know of a specialty shop around the area that would be appropriate to try?

    Have you tried David's Bridal? My mom is plus suze as well and she found a dress that looks great on her there! You can also try Lane Bryant.

    Lynn. My mom is larger too and we had great luck at Dillards. Yes we had to go back 5 or 6 times to find "the dress" but they had thebest selection for the most reasonable prices.

    David's bridal was toning down thier selection for MOB when we were looking but you cna find some pretty BP dresses and dress them up with a broach or a shawl

    We haven't tried David's Bridal yet- simply because a few years ago we had no luck. My parents renewed their vows in 2005 and we were looking for nice dresses. Because it's a bridal store- they run smaller and had none to fit her.

    We haven't tried Dillard's yet. Thanks for the tip & advice ladies! :)
