  I have never been to Camp Lucy but I did look into it (because I, like you, love it) and found several not so steller reviews online. It's such a beautiful venue and so unique and Dripping Springs is so amazing, but you should check online for reviews. You should also check out the open house and get a feel for the place and the management. Here is another beautiful posting on stylemepretty from Camp Lucy

  Camp lucy is beautiful.  We checked it out for our december wedding but decided against it.  there's really no way to do a rain plan (or in our case, a cold weather plan).  The reception area is an open-air pavillion and the bathrooms are detached.  there are a bunch of really beautiful trees between the bathrooms and the pavillion which makes putting up a tent of any kind impossible.  in the event of rain or cold weather, i would have had to ask my grandmother to put on her coat or to grab an umbrella just to go to the bathroom.  that didn't sound like something i wanted to do so we went against it.

  Camp Lucy is even better than the pictures show!  My daughter chose this venue for her January wedding after checking out 8 - 10 other spots. It stands head and shoulders over all that we visited. They are working now on another building that will be totally enclosed.  They have brought down an Amish barn from Ohio and are using it for the new structure.  It is truly a unique and beautiful venue, easy to get to, and a beautiful drive from highway 290.  There are many incredible places for pictures -  along  Onion Creek, under huge oak trees, the Vietnamese chapel, etc.  I can't speak to the whole experience of Camp Lucy as we have not had the wedding yet, but so far Kimberly has been very responsive to questions and emails.  I am sure that you won't be disappointed in the venue.

   Too much of a chance for bad weather to interfere with the wedding or the reception here.  Also didn't like the close proximity to homes and neighbors. I have read other posts that the neighbors aren't very happy with the venue being there and that there are protest signs up.

  I LOVED the venue but the negative reviews are dead on, the management is a disaster to work with. They are impossible to get in touch with and there is a serious conflict of interest (one of the employees is also a wedding coordinator on this side so she wants you to use only her services).

   It took a few days to hear back but we set-up an appointment for a tour. Our GPS took us the wrong way so we were 15 mins late for our appointment. I tried calling the office and the girl we were supposed to meet and no one answered, so when we arrived she was gone (the contractor showed us around).

  They are building a beautiful indoor reception area that should be done next year, that will take care of the weather issues and hopefully make the neighbors happy.

  If the management was better I would have booked this place in an instant but I didn't want to risk it.

  I too am in love with this venue but some of the reviews are terrible and it makes me nervous. Do you have to work with their wedding coordinator? I am new to TX...any idea what would be the best time of year to get married in dripping springs as far as weather? thank you!
