Where to get a tent

Hey Ladies,

I have come to the conclusion that regarless of where I choose to get married, I am going to need to rent a tent. (I want to get married outside followed by an outside reception... in August.) I have been doing some internet searching, but most of the places I have looked cost about the same amount as some of the venues I've seen. Does anyone have any recommendations of locations to rent a tent from that won't bust my budget or force me to give up my dream of an outside reception?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How big a tent do you need?  When I was looking, I found that at least with the smaller tents, you can typically buy one on eBay for less than the cost of renting one.

I'm in need of a tent that spans at least 40 feet. Most of the places I have looked, have put this in the $1000+ range. Plus our venue is down in Hague, VA (2 1/2 hours from DC) so we have also had to take into account delivery/distance and set up fees. If there is anyone out there who knows of a location in VA near Richmond or east of that I could really use the advice. I'm hoping to keep the total cost somewhere around $800 or less. I may be dreaming though.

These companies are in DC area and you could probably find something even cheaper towards Richmond but I found Allied Party Rentals, Totally Tents and Potomac Party rentals had quotes under $1k- which is well under what the more popular places are charging for that size ($1600 basic then accessories and set-up...it's about $2500,,,eek)
