Mother of the Bride dresses

My mom wants me to take here out in the DC area (we live in Northern VA) to look for a dress for her but I'm not sure where we would find the best selection or have the best luck.  Have any suggestions or where did your moms find dresses?  Thanks!

    My Mom found hers at Lord & Taylor, they have an entire section devoted to nice dresses. Really, any department store with dresses will have a selection of anything from casual to cocktail to formal - and often for cheaper than at a bridal salon. I've always had the best luck (depending on how much she wants to spend) at Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, and Cache.  However, some bridal salons will carry Mother of the Bride dresses as well if you want to check out those too.

    My mom had luck at the Nordstrom in Tyson's Corner.  We called ahead and reserved an appointment with a sales person.  My mom ended up buying a beautiful badgley mischka dress that was on major sale.
