B&G Kissing Game

What are some of your ideas for the guests to do at your reception to make the bride and groom kiss?

I hate the idea of our dinner constantly being interrupted by glasses tinking so I want to do something different. But I also don't want to do something that people won't want to do (a friend of mine went to a wedding where the bride and groom had to copycat another couple's kiss, but the guests didn't get into it so there weren't any kisses).

My sister had a putting green set up at her reception and you got one chance to get a hole in one for them to kiss. It worked pretty well but I don't want to do the same thing as them.

  • I have never heard of this; what an interesting idea.  I would love to hear others idea or experiences.

  • I have never thought of doing this. I guess we will stick to the "glass tinkking" one.

  • A friend had bells with a tag that said "ring for a kiss from the new Mr and Mrs" on them.

  • I honestly hate the whole idea of doing something to make the B&G kiss.  At a wedding we went to last year, they gave out the bells as well.  The first half hour of the reception was just bell ringing.  It was very annoying.

I don't plan on having anything set-up.  If people want to do the tinking glass, then I'll give G a kiss a few times, but if it gets out of hand, I'll just ignore it.
  • My sister gave the DJ a list of other couples at the wedding.  When everyone tapped their glasses, he would name a couple and they would have to kiss and my sister and her H had to imitate how they kissed. It was really funny! One of the husbands dipped his wife and dropped her on the floor! We still laugh about it every time we see them.

The bolded part. It can get really annoying to both the new couple and guests.

  • Our reception is going to be music, dancing, hor d'ouevres and cake as soon as the guests step into the tent. I doubt we would even hear the clinking glasses.... which I am thankful for because I HATE the idea!!! Blah- it is so not us!!

  • All the weddings I have ever been to-the glass clinking was very very minimal (maybe two people did it) so I'm not too worried about it.

  • Every wedding I've been to has just had people clink the glasses or bells.  If no one says anything typically the clinking will be at a minimum.

Personally, I feel like I'll be kissing him a lot that day and don't need someone to tell us when to kiss but if someone does the glass clink thing whatever.  I think even guests get annoyed with it after a while so they don't do it much.

    Ditto
  • I went t oa wedding where whichever table chinked their glasses had to answer a trivia question about the B&G to get them to kiss.. like What's their song? Where did they meet? etc.

  • I am not going to kiss fiance while we eat. I am a germaphobe & that just grosses me out. I also can't eat some of the foods he will be eatting so if they want more than a peck they will have to wait. Most weddings i have been at lately it has happened less & less.

This times eleventy million. I'd never even heard of this until my best friend got married in Chicago...maybe it's a northern/midwestern thing. It got real annoying, real quick. I don't think anyone will try to start this at my wedding, but I'm definitely ignoring it if they do.

  • When my roommate from college got married, tables had to sing a love song together to get the B&G to kiss. It was actually fun to try and come up with an awesome song, and the DJ was great! He would spin whatever song guests sang after.
