Chicago Restaurant recs for OOT guests

Hi Ladies,

Some of our out-of-town guests are starting to ask for restaurant recommendations in the city.

I can point them to the famous places/places I used to go when I lived out there, but it's been a while, so I thought I'd get your thoughts.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

One of my bridesmaid's bdays is the day before the rehearsal, so they are coming in early and her boyfriend wants to take her out for a nice dinner.  I know she loves paella, so if you have a great paella place, I'd be most appreciative!  (I don't eat meat or fish, so I got nothing on that one!)

Thanks, ladies!

Cafe Ba Ba Reeba has good paella and is a very popular restaurant.

The Bergoff is an old Chicago staple serving German food and their own beer.

Frontera Grill is a very hot and hip Mexican restaurant by celebrity chef Rick Bayless.

I put together a list of our favorite bars/restaurants on our wedding website- this might be helpful. Click on the "Where to Eat" and "Where to Go Out" tabs on the left.

I  kinda of interested  in the list, mainly because you say Aurelios is not  really fancy but you list Ginos east where you write on  the on the wall. How is writing   on a wall   make a pizza place  fancy and a sub par  place at that. and since when is a pizza place supposed  to be fancy? IMHO.

I acutally meant that neither Ginos nor Aurelios were all that fancy. The OP mentioned her BM wanted to go our for dinner at a nicer restaurant, but I thought I would mention the pizza places anyways in case she wanted to suggest them to her other OOT guests.
