  We're doing sparklers, so I'm a bit partial.   I think ribbon wands make for great photos, too.

  I like the idea of ribbon wands since I've seen them, but then again in our case if we were to do a grand send off, we would HAVE to do ribbon wands or sparklers (can't throw anything or have bubbles). Hehe, so that changes my opinion a bit I think :-)

  Well for our reccesion we are doing bubbles we have 2 bubble machines...

  This is not common in my area so we're not doing it, but if I was going to I would go with sparklers. I love the way the pictures turn out!

  We're doing bubbles as we walk away from the ceremony (so our older guests can participate) and then sparklers at the end of the night.

  I love the sparklers too!!!  Thats what were doing....FI is supposed to be picking them up this weekend!!!  This was an inspiration page from my pinterest page for the sparkler sendoff!!!

  also not very common in my area/circles...but i'd do the sparklers because it's similar tot he flaoting laterns i wanted to do (but venue says no!)

  I thought about bubbles, but we had bubbles near formal dresses in the past, and the bubbles leave funny marks on dresses.  Be careful.. They'll wash out, but in all the pictures I have, you can see bubble spots on my dress

  The thing with sparklers is fire and drunk people don't get along well.  We were going to do a sparkler send off until our photographer reminded us of this.  It would have been fitting to have a sparkler send off too because we both shoot fireworks professionally and will be having a sort of fireworks themed wedding.  So, in theory if we got caught drinking and playing with sparklers we could lose our licenses.
