Granite Rose Vegetarian Meal Price?

Hi Ladies,

So my wedding at Granite Rose is in 2 weeks and I just called to get my final balance so I can get a bank check, and either they think I was born yesterday or something is fishy.  They told me the amount I owe but can't explain how that breaks down, what charges make that up, etc.  The big question is around the vegetarian meal; we have one guest requesting that, and one would think a venue is used to that and has a standard veggie meal to offer.  I'm not asking for anything special, just the usual.  They told me it's priced at $1 more than the menu entree, which seems strange because my menu entrees are priced higher because they were custom, so why would the veggie meal be based on that?  Shouldn't it be a set price?  When all is said and done, they are saying the vegetarian meal costs $53 regular, which I find hard to believe since chicken is in the mid-40s.

Has anyone else a their reception at Granite Rose in 2010 or 2011 and can tell me how much they were charges for the vegetarian entree?  I just want to be confident that I know what I'm paying for before I fork over a check for thousands of dollars.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe I am not understanding this correctly.....but are you talking about this discrepancy in pricing that only applies to one meal?

Doesn't seem like that big of a deal since it's only ONE?  If it's +/- one or two dollars for one meal...just doesn't seem that important when you're two weeks out.

I agree with PP...is $1 that big of a discrepancy?

Also, I'm getting married at the Granite Rose in August and any question we have had about pricing they have been able to answer. We have a few special meal choices.  MOG has a gluten allergy and we have 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian coming and we had no problems arranging for those meals in any way, including the price.

Did you go to your consultation? They drew up an estimate for us then so we had an idea of what our final payment would be.  I have to be honest, I haven't found them to be shady at all, in fact they have been really helpful and up front with things.

I am also having my wedding at the Granite Rose in 3 weeks and they haven't been shady at all about pricing. Our coordinator, Erin, has been more than helpful with cost break down and pricing information. Did you not receive an invoice after your consultation? We received one with all of the amounts owed etc. I would just call them and ask for an invoice. That should include if you are having the linen enhancement package, ceremony enhancement package, food choices, etc. Have you given them your final guest count yet?

    Hi guys,

Sorry for the late response, it's been a bit hectic.  I did get an invoice and an estimate, but they kept showing the prices and charges broken down differently, and there were a lot of wrong prices in there, which is why I'm paranoid and analyzing this like a legal document, haha.  The venue worked with me on the vegetarian thing and also on the vendor meal price, I ended up working with Walter on it because Erin and Nancy were clueless.  All in all I think I'm good now, but I hope this is a lesson to other brides to really read the estimates/invoices closely, because they can be confusing and what seems like a few dollars here and there can end up being $100+ difference!~
