Here I go with the shoes again.. PIP

If any of you remember, I've been having an issue with finding shoes that I like bc I did not order extra length on my dress, and I am about 5'8".

So, someone (I forget who -  I am sorry) has been posting these shoes in red, and I like them in the champagne color. And I think they are low enough for me to get away with.

The only issue is that my dress is ivory. Do you think I can get away with it since the shoes are darker than the dress? I think I may order them and then take them to the salon to see if they go. I can send them back if they don't. I just wanted to get the expert advice of you ladies!! Here is my dress btw:

and here it is on the scary model. Not sure if the color is more accurate here (the lighting in my pic is weird)

Thoughts?? Help! I've been stressing about shoes and would LOVE to be able to check them off my list!!!!

  • What material are the shoes?  If they are flat like they look in the picture, champagnes really look like khaki and I think they would be too casual for your dress and the color difference would be really obvious.  If they are not flat but a shiny satin fabric, I think you can pull it off.

  • The website says they are satin. But I can't tell how shiny.  I don't think they are the flat/leathery material that they look. I understand what you are saying, though. Which is why I was going to order them and see how they look in person.

  • IMHO, I don't actually like when the shoes match perfectly. It's weird to me. Like those velour track suits? Hate those. lol I really love those shoes and I think the champagne color would complement your dress beautifully!
  • That would be me!

They are shiny satin, and I think they'll look fine with your dress.

  • I agree with PP, if you like them and can return them, go for it and check them out. Then you can see if they look super casual or more formal :)
  • I think that color would go just fine. You can pair a nude/champagne shoe with ANY color outfit and still be chic. I agree though that if they're matte, it wouldn't look formal enough. BUT I'm also not a fan of matchy-matchy shoes with wedding dresses. As long as there's a good return policy, you're safe either way! :)
