NWR: My Surgery

Today I had surgery to remove a few lymph nodes. It was done successfully and I'm now home after being at Beaumont for over 6 hours. The surgery was short itself, but I am allergic to all the major pain meds including Morphine and Codeine. So, they were having a hard time controlling my pain. They also had to poke me 8 times to try to get my IV started. I had an issue waking up after the surgery. I've had 9 surgeries in the past 10 years, so the more and more I get sedated, the harder for me it is. I wasn't suppose to get tubed with this procedure, just a "sedation", but they decided for my safety they should tube me and put me out completely.

Now, I'm at home relaxing (or trying to the best I can with 3 kids lol) and in LOADS of pain under my arm. But, good news is they think it was a cyst growing on my node and not cancerous, but to make sure, they're doing a biopsy. *sigh* I'm glad this is over with, for now lol.

Sorry to hear about the pain dear. It sounds like their initial prognosis is good, so keeping fingers crossed for you.

Thank you ladies! The kids are doing their best to not annoy me, is what they said lol. I'm still in massive amounts of pain and didn't sleep at all lastnight. But, my mom is coming over in a bit and then my BM later to help take care of me and the kids. So, maybe I'll be able to get a nap in if I'm lucky. Thanks for the Thoughts and Prayers!

Thank you ladies, but there's been a few set backs. I've had to get my pain meds upped because the original one's weren't working for me. I'm still in horrible pain and now the pain has moved to my neck and back and I'm unable to move or even get out of bed. The site is also infected so now I'm just waiting for the doctor to call back to find out what I should do about this. I wish I never did the stupid surgery now.
