I want to talk about The Dark Tower. I finished it today. I have some questions about the last book...

Wait, more than one ending?? You mean, leave it at us not knowing, or getting the ::real:: ending?

The last book seemed like it was told by someone else completely. A totally different tone. Before I found out that Jake saved him, I thought maybe 'someone else' was writing it. Did you notice any difference?

I did find that it seemed more "from the mouth of stephen king" in the last book, like he was talking directly to the reader as opposed to just telling the story. He almost narrated it, which was a difference from the other books.

Dude, I even cried when they were reunited. When I read about Eddie, H was in bed sick, so I was having to like stiffle my cries. It was pathetic lol.

But yeah, that's a good way to put it. What was your favorite book? I think mine was probably Wolves of Calla. I don't remember the name, but I didn't like the one where he went back to Mejis. I was so invested in the story and I felt like it really stalled everything

Ive heard a LOT of people didnt like wizard and glass, it just didnt FIT as well - i can see how it set other things up, but it was just slow. I really liked the last 4 books. If I had a favourite it would probably be song of susannah, because I feel like it really came together from there on.

Can I ask, how you FELT once you finished. I was totally overwhelmed once I finished, he got up to the top of the tower and found otu what was there. I cried.

I actually HAVNT, I dont even really know what it is. I got notifications in my email but just didnt look. I find a lot of his things he runs through his site are rather labour intensive and I just cant be bothered to check regularly.

I am asking for the graphic novels of the dark tower for christmas - i havnt read them yet and im really looking forward to it. Have you read much else of his?

Yeah, it's...interesting. You start out at the Dixie Pig and you have to pick up little things to make it through to the next 'level'.

Um...I did when I was much younger. I've read Insomnia, It, Under the Dome, From a Buick something or other, Thinner, Needful Things...I don't really remember any of them though. I'm pretty much starting from scratch. I know I always enjoy his books, but I was too young to 'get' anything

Insomnia and from a buick 8 are linked to the dark tower, to be honest MOST of his books are, in some way or another. I find it so fascinating the little details that tie them together.

I started reading him when I was about 16, the shining was the first book I read and it scared the hell out of me. I wish I still had that reaction to some of his books. The only books to really scare me were geralds game and bag of bones.
