Rehearsal Dinner Music

We are having our rehearsal dinner at a location where all they provide is the location, tables, and chairs.  Our guest list is at about 40 people.  We are stumped on what to do for music.  We found a reaonsably priced DJ but we aren't sure if people are going to dance or not.  The other option would be to do it myself with ipod and speakers but then I'd have to download a bunch of music.  Any other options I'm not thinking of?

Re: Rehearsal Dinner Music

  • Hm, I hadn't even thought of this. I'm having our RD at a restaurant, so I'm at the mercy of their music :) However, I have been to a few RDs and have personally not had dancing or anything like that. Pretty much eat/relax and save the partying for the wedding, but I also didn't have the OPTION, so I'm not much help lol. Good luck!
  • I would ask a friend to make a mix for you and put it on a CD... That's something I could probably do in 20 minutes with iTunes, so I'm sure one of your friends wouldn't mind. Then borrow a portable CD player... that should work, right?

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I've never been to an RD with music so I've never actually though of this.  It's always about the food.

Same here.  We are having our rehearsal dinner at a local steak house which plays country  music.  To me it's just a time to relax and have good food and pass out the gifts to the wedding party.
