Im trying to have a wedding in Maui, Wailea area to be exact. And I discovered that the hotel charges some ginormous amount (surcharges and food and beverage minimum) to host a welcome dinner and sunday brunch for the day after the wedding. So my mom suggested finding a restaurant with a nice view to accomodate our guests to have these meals . Any ideas??? I'm hoping to find a restaurant that can accomodate 40 people without sticking us in a room with no view.

We looked at Sarentos, Gannon's and one other and ended up going with Gannon's. You can ask for a nicer view but it's so beautiful inside that even if you don't get it you won't regret it.

We held both at Mala Wailea at the Marriott. Their group sales coordinator was fabulous and the Sunday brunch price was incredibly reasonable. No extra fees / minimums either. Let me know of you want more info.

5 Palms has a great breakfast and really lovely lanai. I'd check into there. And make sure you order the Hawaiian sweet bread French toast!
