Bridesmaid Dress Alterations

Hi Ladies! Just wondering how many of you had your BM dresses altered down in C-Bus, where at, and how much it ran them? My girls are coming in for an alterations party with my seamstress and one of my BMs is concerned with the price of her alterations, but the other 2 don't seem too worried about it. Can I get a rough average of what your girls' alterations cost per girl and what was done to them (hem, taken in etc). Thanks!!!

Surprisingly, none of my BM's dresses needed altered. I dunno how it worked out like that, but it did.

I would suggest some of the same ladies that do wedding gown alterations that have been recommended on the board.

Missy, I already have a seamstress that did my alterations and she does this bridal party party where you bring in your BMs or whoever needs altered and you have a day of fun, snacks, and drinks while everyone gets altered. It's a brilliant idea, I'm just trying to figure out average costs of alterations for BMs because my one girl thinks a hundred bucks is ridiculous for alterations and I don't know what to go off of to determine if it is or isn't.

I have been a bridesmaid many times and always get my dresses altered at a little shop in Bethyl Centre next to Golden delight bakery.  On average, I paid about $75-100 depending on the dress so I think your alterations place is completely reasonable.

Formal dresses are more difficult to work with which is why the cost is higher than would be expected.  Hopefully, that rationale will help appease your bridesmaid.  Good luck!

This! I usually expect to spend about $100 on alterations for bridesmaids dresses but I won't lie, it always makes me angry. Not at the bride, just the situation. It seems ridiculous to pay so much for a dress then nearly have to double the cost to alter it.

I went to the same place that chemgal23 did when I was a bridesmaid. Now that I'm the bride, I'm recommending them to my Columbus bridesmaids for their alterations because they did a wonderful job and cost about waht chemgal23 said. It's called Perfect Alterartions. Just make sure they make an appointment first. They're only a couple people, and they get pretty busy around wedding season time. Other than availability, I had no problems with them.

    Good luck!

From being in weddings, I've typically paid $50-$75 for alterations on my dresses but that is because I go to a lady who does it out of her home... so she is probably a little cheaper than an actual company.

I have used Joyce Eubanks for a bridesmaid dress ( hem-$40.00 ) , I chose her because the bride was usig her, now that I am getting married in September I plan to use her again. It is just her so it may run a little less expensive.
