J. Crew Bridesmaids Dresses

These are the three dresses in the running for my BMs. I called the J. Crew Bridal store in Manhattan today to make an appointment and they're booked through April. I nearly dropped the phone, but then realized that they only take 3-6 business days to come in, so we'll be fine. I wish we could have this settled earlier, but we have an appointment for Apiril 21st.

FI's sister very gently said she think she'll look chubby in the last one, so we may be choosing from just two styles.

The first one is my favorite. They'll be holding yellow roses and I'm still thinking about shoes. Yellow seems a bit much, but I wonder if the flowers would "go with" gold shoes.. Our colors are navy blue, slate blue, and gold.

Thoughts on shoes? Should I rethink yellow roses?

I think yellow roses plus gold shoes will look fine. I was in a wedding where we had yellow calla lilies + yellow shawls and it looked great.

J.Crew carries a lot of similar dresses like those in stores, could your BMs try on something similar in store ahead of time to give them a ballpark idea of fit?

My only caution about gold shoes is that a friend of mine had to wear gold shoes in a wedding and it took her MONTHS to find shoes. But the bride was also very picky about the shade of gold and that they had to be "strappy" and not peep toe, pumps, etc.

I think gold shoes would be great. Btw, just order the dresses online. J. crew has a great return policy. Be sure to check the right and column of the J Crew Aficionada blog (google it) for a discount code. It's always cheaper o order online than to go through the store.

Definitely wait for a coupon code! Otherwise, if you still have a student id or are a teacher, you get 15% off in store. I really like the first dress for a short option. I do agree with your FI's sister. The second is what my mom's wearing to our wedding, but long. I think the yellow roses will look great and the gold shoes will go well with everything else too.

I like the first two dresses the best. As for the shoes I would go with nude.
