Non-Church Ceremonies... ideas??

Hi Brides!

My fiance and I are looking for a place to have our wedding ceremony that will allow us to BYOO (bring your own officient). Any ideas?? We would prefer something inside, because we don't trust the weater ;-)

Do you have a reception site yet? I recently saw pics where they did a ceremony in the lobby of the Belarusan American Community center, then the reception in the adjoining hall. It looked really nice if you just want a basic space (that you could dress up any way you want).

Or someplace like the Botanical Gardens or Hanna Garden would let you bring anyone you want to perform the ceremony.

What area or travelling radius are you looking in? Are you wanting a church that will let you bring BYOO or a space/venue that you can turn into a ceremony?

    Her post requested 'non-church' locations.

Whichever reception hall you choose should be able to accommodate a ceremony, too. And, one location would surely be convenient for guests.

I am getting married at Greystone Hall in Akron, and having the ceremony on the 4th floor Doric room.  I wanted a very antique ceremony, and this lating room is perfect!  They have a HUGE minimum price though for a wedding and reception, which really stinks, so hopefully the budget can work for you!  Here are the pics......

Thanks for all the great ideas!!

I guess it doesn't need to be non-church, we are just looking for a place where we can bring our own officiant.

I will definitely look into all of these.  Location doesn't matter... we haven't booked our reception site yet and I have looked at places where we can do both the ceremony and the reception :)

My friend got married at the Fair Child Chapel on Oberlain College campus. It was adorable and she was able to bring her own officiant. She said it was a very reasonable price as well.

I am getting married at Manakiki which is a metroparks facility in Willoughby Hills that is catered by Sammy's. There is a gorgeous outdoor space for the ceremony and rain back-up site inside the Hanna Mansion. The Hanna mansion or another tented facility on site is where you would have your reception. Manakiki is gorgeous, and Sammy's has been great to us so far. You should check them out.

Here is a link to a wedding at Manakiki to give you an idea of the space: http://www.coreyann.net/blog/?p=150

This is the link to the Sammy's website, but the pics on here are not that great. In other words, don't judge the facility by these pictures because Manakiki is beautiful. http://www.sammys.com/manakiki.shtml

Good luck with the venue search!

We are having our ceremony and reception at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick. They have been awesome to work with and everyone I've talked to has said they put on a great event! We are doing an outdoor ceremony but they have a rain plan inside as well! They are very budget friendly and allow you to bring in your own officiant. Good luck!!

We are having our's at the North Canton Civic Center. They have a beautiful white gazebo (outside if you're interested), then we are going inside the hall for the reception. There is room inside to have the ceremony jic
