So I was riding the bus to work this morning (which was 10 minutes late) and all of the seats were full so people had to stand. The thing that pisses me off so much is there was a guy sitting on the outside seat with his bag on the inside seat. When there are people standing. It makes me want to yell at people like that so badly. I think it is so incredibly rude. I don't care personally if I have a seat or not, but there are some people who do. Ugh.
Anyways. This got me thinking about public transit. We are lucky in Ann Arbor to have both a city and University bus system. I grew up in a small town with no public transit, so I was wary to use it at first, but (when it's on schedule) it is so helpful. I went to NYC last month and the subway system is just incredible. I've also used the Metro in Paris, but I don't remember it that well. I'm a little biased with pro-public transit because I want to get my Master's in Urban Planning.
So, does your city have public transit? What kind? Do you enjoy using it or find it horrible? If your city doesn't, would you use it if it was provided to you? It's going to be a slow morning and work and just thought I'd try and start a conversation!
