Any Jester Park Brides out there?

HI!

We are having our wedding and reception at Jester Park Lodge in Granger, and I am wondering if there are any other brides out there doing the same.

I am just curious the way some of you may be doing certain things.

THANKS!!

are the restrictions tight? I am looking for some places and dont like the idea of someone telling me what I can and cant do at my own wedding.

We we certian we were going to use Jester Park but buy the time I figured the price for the ceremony fee, the facility rental, the catering (if you have less than 100 people the price of food increases a certain amount based on the number of people you are inviting), it was almost my whole wedding budget. I hadn't even figure in the flowers/decorations, cake, dress/tux, etc. And you can either have a morning or afternoon ceremony. I wanted to rent the place for the whole day (which I swear it said on their website) and the lady called and told me that wasn't possible. I wanted to be able to have my own time schedule and come in to set up when I wanted and take pictures before the ceremony when I wanted but with them you only get a half hour before your time slot. I thought it was ridiculous. We are searching for other less strict options that allow us to have the wedding we want on the time schedule we want. Good luck.

There were a few things with Christiani's that scared me a little, but my FI and I are so busy, we wanted somewhere we can pay and have it all done. We are paying more than we had originally wanted to, but it has been so nice having the food, decor and everything all together. Between Christani's, my florist and myself, I was able to do everything I wanted and more.

The idea of morning vs. evening wasn't an issue for us. I don't know very many guests who want to give up their entire day, unless the ceremony and reception are different sites. We are continuing our reception at the hotel with the blocked rooms. We chose a morning rental, whjch is really going to work nicely. That way, our guest are free to go home at four, or they can come to the hotel and have a nice time there.

If you are looking to reallly, really picky about what you want, then it may not be for you.  The only issues we have had so far is the cost they want to charge us for having sparkling cider instead of champage. We are having a dry wedding and don't want any alochol there at all. They want to charge us $3 per person to serve the sparkling cider. We haven't decided yet if we are going to splurge.

Once I built a realtionship with the gal there, things have gone very smoothly.

Hi Krysh!  Sorry for the delay, but I got busy with school and had to ban myself from dallying on these boards! :-)  We choose the morning slot too.  Both of our families are 1-2 hours away with Jester Park being near the middle and we didn't want to make everyone feel like they had to get a hotel room.  They'll be able to drive home at a reasonable hour if they choose to do so.  We're also reserving a meeting room at our hotel afterwards for a more low-key gathering (opening gifts, light dinner, swimming, etc.) for family and friends that stay.  My fiance and I are both bad at making decisions so I'm definitely getting overwhelmed and starting to not want to make plans anymore, so I agree it's nice to have Christiani's take care of so many things.

My friend had her wedding and reception here last October and it was very very nice. The food was really awsome too!!! And there was plenty of it!
