Parents name on Invite, question

So my Dad goes by one name but his proper first name is another. The wedding is casual so I am not sure wheither to put Mr. and Mrs. Bob or Mr. and Mrs. Robert?

Re: Parents name on Invite, question

  • Very few people know my mom's full name (Ilse Marie), so we're putting "Immie" on the invitations. I think it's fine, especially for a casual wedding!
  • I would go with Robert if you are putting Mr. and Mrs..

If you want to go with Bob, I would say somethig like Bob and Jane Doe..... or however etiquette dictates. (I think the female's name goes first. Not so good with that stuff.)

<div>this. Seeing as bob is just a short version of robert i would go with robert. My fiance never ever goes by his full name but it is on the invitations. </div>

  • Even with your casual theme, I would still go with Robert on your invitations.  Bob just doesn't sound right for a wedding invitation.

  • My mom's birth name is Julian, but she has always been called Judy NEVER by her birth name. I don't know why they just didn't name her Judy, but I am going to put the name she goes because she hates her real name.
  • I put the short form of my Mom's name, but used the full version of mine. Hers actually bugs her, I just associate my "full" first name with something serious.

This! I was having a hard time with this one as well. FI's dad goes by Jack, but his real name is John. We put Mr. John ___ _____.
