I can't concentrate

I'm sitting at work, they messed up and thought this was my last work week and threw me the cutest luau themed work bridal shower but I actually still have a week left. I'm surrounded with lei's and flowers at my desk, I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks and flying out in even less than that....... I can't focus on anything!!

Seems how bridal thoughts are the only thoughts flooding through my head right now - entertain me PLEASE!! Post your wedding item you're most excited (or were most excited) about..... your garter, your dress, an accessory, cake topper.... whatever (I know, picking one is next to impossible)

I'll start............... I think it's still gotta be the dress. I can't wait to see FI's face when I'm walking down to him and can't wait to hear if it's what he expected me to wear or if it blows him away.... I"m such a blubbering ball of emotion right now LOL

I wish I had the altered pics of my dress, but unfortunately it's still the icky pics of me from the first few times I tried it on and hadn't actually purchased yet

I think my favorite detail is my dress too so far. I also recently picked out a veil too (originally wasn't going to go with one) so I'm extra excited about the "whole package"

Other details? Our cupcake toppers are going to be incredible and I couldn't be more excited to see those.

And my favorite AHR detail is the dueling pianos-- hands down!

I'm doing a hair trial the day before the wedding (we're only there 1 full day before we get married-- yikes!) and I sent her two "inspiration" pics... one half up half down, and one very similar to that. I have a feeling I'll do all up just to ensure I'll be comfortable in the heat :D</div><div>

I did my hair up...a few reasons:

1) Wind - face full of hair mid vow? Nothx.
2) Humidity - curls just fall out of my hair in seconds
3) Classic & clean - just our style

Brea I love the look of the hair + veil in that photo. Something very clean and classic about it. What did you decide about the glasses?

Tanq - you're gorgeous!!! and is that your Mom doing up your dress ** teardrop**. I don't know where this super sensitive side of me came from LOL

I love the updo in the pic. I've been planning to do my hair 1/2 up the whole time but I definitely have some recent thoughts of up??? Tanq makes a lot of good points above

Here's some inspiration pics I have with me (I wish the first one had the front and was a better quality pic but I don't even know where I got it from, you'll probably have to open it right up to actually see the hair? The second one with way less bump and 1 or 2 white phaleonopsis orchids). Is it bad that I'm 2 weeks away and haven't completely settled on my hair??? EEEK

My favourite part was sitting out on the lanai getting h&m done, listening to the waves crashing in. It was just totally relaxing and awesome. Made me SO happy.

Also, our cake. It was spectacular.

Tanq - You are so pretty!! I know you're a private person but it's nice to see this mysterious person we've all been talking to the past few months.

Crystal- I too plan to have a little poof and wear my hair half up, I never wear my hair up so it's more "me" to have it down, my FI loves long hair, and I don't like my ears that much or the freckles/moles on my shoulders/back so my hair should help cover it. My hair doesn't always hold curls and I'm getting married on the windward side of oahu but I'm hoping for the best! Plus I love that half up hair looks more beachy and relaxed, our wedding isn't going to be really formal so it works.

I'd have to say my most recent purchase that I'm excited to recieve is this sash, it can be worn as a headband or a belt, so hopefully it looks good with the dress. I'm not looking forward to the cost of alterations on my dress, i've lost some weight and need a good like 5" or 6" hemmed off the bottom.

I love that your coworkers are so sweet and did that for you! Hopefully you can make it through the next week without going crazy.

That's totally why my first instinct was to go with the 1/2 up. His favorite way for me to wear my hair is 1/2 up and it's very rare you will see me with all of my hair up.
And... he once said to me when I was asking him about his predictions on how I will look and what kind of dress I'll be wearing, that he thought I would wear my hair up because "brides always seem to wear their hair up", so I wanted to do something different than he suspected.

For me it was absolutely the dress - esp. after I got it altered. I loved it, as did my FI's mom who saw it when she went to my final fitting. Other than the dress, I was in love with my hair flower (from etsy seller Mikiye). And I was really happy with the embroidered towels that we got for our wedding party.

It's normal to be distracted now. Just keep taking mental pictures of these exciting moments so you can ponder them when you get back.

p.s. I wouldn't worry too much about half up/half down hair and wind. If your hairdresser is familiar with beach weddings, she'll know how to style your hair so it won't be in your face mid-ceremony. I also think it's ok to just have a general idea of what you want - the hair dresser will probably add some of their own flair anyways.
