I got married October 23rd, and my shower was August 1st. We had to do it early so my aunt would be able to come in from out of town before my cousins started school. I don't think anyone had issues with it at all.

Generally whenever someone offers to throw one for you. I'd say usually 2-3 months ahead of time.

Usually 1-3 months from the wedding, but there's really no rules.  Just be sure that if the shower guests need to come in from out of town, the shower isn't too close to the wedding so they don't have to make the trip twice in a short amount of time.

I am getting married in Indiana, but my fiance and I both live in Austin.  I had my first shower in December, when the majority of my family would be home for Christmas.  I don't think there's really any hard and fast rules for a bridal shower...  If someone is willing to throw one for you, it's always the right time!

Showers can be a few months in advance, depending on the hostess. Mine were around 6-4 weeks in advance and I planned my baccalaureate party on one of the evenings after the shower just because I knew all my girlfriends would all be available on that day. It is really up to you and the hostess and whatever makes the most sense to both of your schedules. Good luck!
